"Room great with plenty space for all 3 of us, room shower not so good, had to run about to get wet. Nice pool, although spa bath not working, could do with spa showers in the rooms, were great. Had 3 lovely breakfasts, enjoyed by all, staff very helpful. Food served in bar was nice. "

"The room we were staying, the decor was tired - not worthy of a 4 star hotel unfortunately. Upon arrival, wardrobe door was hanging off hinges, the wifi receiver box was hanging of the wall - room was also very dark. Pointed out wardrobe door to concierge and they had it fixed the next day, but should have been done before guest arrival - tables in hallway tired and peeling off. The staff was friendly though, especially in the breakfast room. Breakfast had a good choice."

"Short break for a birthday. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. Our room overlooking the river was very nice, somewhere to hang the towels etc in the bathroom would have been a good thing. The spa was good and clean throughout. The food in the evening in Josef's Restaurant was very good and plentiful and there was a good choice for breakfast in the morning too. Overall the staff were very good and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in Durham. Looking forward to returning."
