"Ten Bits Ranch was, by far, the coolest place we’ve ever stayed. The cabin and property is absolutely adorable!! We (my son and I) stayed in the Post Office. It was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfortable, there was plenty of water provided, the wifi was strong, bathroom is roomy, and there was more than enough space for my son to sleep on his air mattress without taking up all the floor space.The owners contacted me several times before and during our stay with all the information needed. I cooked dinner in the Cantina one night and found everything needed (utensils, pans, stove, oven, etc.). Watching the sun set and rise was a beautiful experience. We brought in our own wood and had a lovely fire at the fire pit and enjoyed the beauty all around us. I cannot even express how much we loved this place and how highly we recommend it!! I’ll definitely be back!! The only negative which has nothing to do with the owners and would not deter me from going back is the North County Road. We had a storm (which is very rare) come through which made the road a little rougher and we had to pass through water running across the road in several spots. The only suggestion is to keep a watch on the weather and if you don’t have a vehicle that sits a little higher off the ground, wait for the storm to pass and watch water levels when entering the access . Do not let this one thing keep you from visiting this amazing place! "

"My son and I stayed at Spirit House for a week of Spring Break hiking in Big Bend. Spirit House was perfect for us; great location in Terlingua Ghost Town and very short drive to west entrance to Big Bend. The property was as-described and very clean. It had more than enough utensils to cook breakfast and pack lunches in the morning before venturing out for the day. Its location in Terlingua meant we only needed to park and then just enjoy the location in the evening.I highly recommend the food at the To Die For Food Truck and DBs Rustic BBQ. I really enjoyed a cold brew and live blues-rock at The Boat House after a day of hiking. We enjoyed the ambiance and history of The Starlight Theater (food was good here, but not as good as the other options, and not worth the 2 hour wait it seems to draw every night).After dinner, my son and I would pull the chairs into the side yard and watch the sky transition from sunset to twilight to night sky. Fantastic star gazing!The internet was high speed and made it super simple to plan the next day's adventure over sodas under the stars.I highly recommend for a traveling couple."

"The property is simply amazing. The views are so incredible that it humbles you the only way our creator can. The rooms are clean and cozy. My wife and I stayed in the bath house and yes, theres a swimming pool in the room. It comes in handy especially after a long hard day of hiking and climbing. You definitely need to remember that when youre in the desert, you are basically in survival mode so you need to get accustomed quick to what you signed up for. Theres a lot of dust, dont leave your shoes outside, have a first aid kit handy, and some may not have cell service (which can also be a blessing), Bring your own food and fire wood, etc. The views of the sky are truly a blessing. The sun rises and sun sets are so relaxing and fills the sky with the most beautiful colors. The owners are very specific in letting you know EXACTLY what you need so, pay attention! If you love nature and hiking/camping, you'll love this place for sure! We will definitely be visiting again."

"My wife and I are in our 70's. The two chairs, small table, and bed are very low to the floor. We had a hard time getting out of them. No arm rest on either of the chairs. A couple of standard chairs and table would have been nice. Both showers were pretty unique, but the inside shower floor was pretty slippery and no grab bars for elderly people like us.Other than what I mentioned above it is a wonderful place."
