"The only good things about this hotel was the woman at the check in desk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the man who worked that area was helpful. There are many cons to this hotel. The bed was hard, shower head was very short (it only came to my chin), no coffee maker in the room, walls are paper thin (I could hear the guest in the next rooms phone ding and his phone conversations), high way traffic and trains. Then I reserved a king size room and they gave me a room with two double beds. The manager wouldn’t come out to speak to me about it or the difference in room prices. There is no elevator in the hotel and the room keys didn’t work for the room so the front desk representative had to let you into your room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here."

"I hadn't stayed at his property for almost 40 years, and I was pleasantly surprised at its current condition. Everything was in very good shape, at a price considerably below other hotels in the immediate area. The included breakfast was among the very best I've ever had in a hotel, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The only negative I can mention is the furniture in the room and in part of the common area at reception. The lounge chair/ottoman were absolutely the hardest, most uncomfortable I've ever seen anywhere. I honestly can't imagine a furniture manufacturer making such an uncomfortable product, and I'm astonished that a hotel would purchase it for guest rooms. In spite of that, I would definitely return to this hotel in the future."

"Had an unexpected stop in Staunton, VA due to tire problems… booked the Blackburn Inn last minute to stay over and get van new tires. Pulled up and thought we were at wrong place. A beautiful historic colonial building looked like a college campus but was the Blackburn Inn. I researched and found out it used to be a hospital built in 1800’s. Very clean, well maintained and restored. The front desk allowed me to keep my room till noon on checkout while waiting for van repair. Only disappointment was the on site bar/ grill is seasonal and we had to go elsewhere for bite to eat. Excellent find… thanks Expedia and Blackburn Inn"
