Quiet Cabin on the River
Sooooo peaceful and relaxing little cabin on the River. I could not get over how quiet it was there. Great place to unplug and unwind. Definitely will be returning again.

It was just what we were looking for a great place to spend time with my wife. Great anniversary.
The place was great, quite and secluded, great restaurants in town also. The only issue we had was the last person that stayed there didn't clean out the coffee maker and there was mold in the filter and the hot water smelled really bad because of the septic tank.

Needs dehumidifier as floors were damp Personally thought cleaning , considering $85 was charged and we still had to clean cabin. We still had a great time, perfect for us! Fished off deck and dock! Overall very good experience.

Time slows down at the cabin. We throughly enjoy staying at this quaint rustic cabin on the creek. With a short drive to our wet slip Sea Hag Marina, this is perfect location for us. Everything you could possibly need to make this your peaceful home away from home.

Very helpful owner & nicely kept 2 bedroom cabin right on the Steinhatchee river with lots of room!
The owner of the Hideaway cabin, Bethany was very nice and quickly responsive from the time I booked!! This cabin, Hideaway, was perfect for my husband and I & our 2 daughters 12 & 13!! The owner, Bethany, was very responsive and helpful! This was our first trip to Steinhatchee, FL and we could not have stayed in a better rental!! This cabin has plenty of open space in the kitchen and living room with a fireplace, built in bar with stools, which was perfect for the kids to eat at & play with the puzzles & games that Bethany had there. There are bunk beds tucked in a corner of the living room for extra sleeping which our girls used with blankets to make a "tent" to sleep in one night. It's right on the Steinhatchee river with a nice size dock that we enjoyed fishing off of even tho we didn't have much luck except for an alligator gar I caught & my husband released for me!!! Bethany had told me that they always swim at Steinhatchee Falls and kyack right to her cabin. The cabin is not real close to any other and has a big yard, a large deck with sliding glass doors so you can enjoy nature or close the blinds at night. The bedrooms are a good size and both have plenty of storage as well as closet space. There's a full bathroom upstairs and a laundry room with washer and dryer & a bathroom with a shower and toilet we used when we got out of the river or got back from the beach. There's also a concrete patio under the entire cabin with a fireplace, fish cleaning table and gas grill as well as a charcoal grill so you can choose. It's not far from the marinas, restaurants & stores. We chartered a fishing trip with Matt Underwood, owner of Triple Threat charters. He & his son Wyatt were very patient and helpful with me & our girls since this was our first time fishing in the ocean!! We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to stay an extra day! I emailed Bethany and in minutes we extended our trip! We highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, quite & peaceful place to stay !!

Sitting on the River
We spent every evening sitting on the back deck watching the river flow and birds fly about. Beautiful setting...tho the neighborhood was a bit "Rural". Host could not be more communicative and pleasant. Yes, cabin was "rustic" but to us that meant it had memories of kind and good times.

A relaxing, rustic getaway
We spent three days at this small cabin on the river fishing, relaxing and roasting marshmallows. My family is not serious about fishing, and we only caught three small fish off the dock. The cabin is well equipped. The yard is large enough for outdoor games. The neighborhood was very quiet: a mix of run down trailers and well kept cabins.

The location was spectacular!!

Quiet paradise
This is the place if you want to get away. I loved that you could not hear any cars. Only sound at night was bugs and birds. Art was the only phone service here (which I did not have). Owner went out of her way to put in new internet service. It was still so slow you could not watch a YouTube video. I brought my own kayak and enjoyed paddling the river. Lots of wild life, otters, gator, wild hog, deer, turkey. Big bend wildlife management area was great for kayaking and biking.

Just what we needed.
We had a very nice and relaxing time. We brought our kayaks. We went up the river to the falls down the river to we didnt see many houses. We fished alot while there. I caught a gar a few mud fish. A bass eel and a bluegill. I would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful, rustic river cabin. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a quieter place. Stargazing was amazing and watching the river stop at high tide is something I’ve never seen before. The WiFi was a little slow, but I expect that in such a remote location. The cabin has absolutely everything you could need. The owners are truly sharing their home. It reminded me of the Minnesota lake cabin of my childhood- I felt right at home. Communication with Bethany was prompt and easy. It was too cool to get in the river, plus I don’t like to kayak by myself, but I’m sure it would be a great place to paddle. Steinhatchee is small-town friendly.

The Perfect Peaceful Getaway!
The property was cozy and clean. Well stocked with linens and cookware. The sulfur water takes a little getting used to but outside of that, its a wonderful little gem! We enjoyed some local activities including boating and fishing both in the river as well as in the gulf. After each day of fun we were very happy to get back to relaxation and tranquility in this cozy comfortable house. We would happily stay here again. Thank You!

The river runs past
Well furnished. Lots of fluffy towels. Everything provided. Clean and fresh smelling. Double bed was a little noisy when you turned over - but just go to sleep again! A/C gave out a hum when it kicked in at night - but just go to sleep again!!A homely place beside a river with plenty of walks, fishing, paddling, bird watching, bug/beastie collecting, wildlife watching including turkey, white-tailed deer, racoon and some more exotic creatures. Local relatively inexpensive cafes in Steinhatchee do excellent breakfasts. In the evening watch the treefrogs scoff insects off the windows. Relax and open your eyes.

Quiet, peaceful retreat
Wonderful wooded camp on a large lot right on the river. We had very few neighbors on the road, so it was very quiet with many opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing. The camp is comfortable, very clean and well equipped. We found everything in good working order with plenty of hot water for 2 people and a WiFi & satellite that worked great. The owners are very quick to respond to questions. We enjoyed it and will return.

The owner goes out of her way to describe the house as "rustic" and "basic". I'd say it is a cut above that!. Except for the beds, I found it very comfortable and well equipped. A new mattress and some more comfortable deck furniture with an umbrella table would be welcomed. The owner responds promptly to any concerns.
