Fabulous location and house
Booked the house for a long weekend for myself, adult children, their partners and baby. House was exceptional, large and well equipped with everything you could think of. Views were amazing. Location and surrounding countryside was fabulous. Can also recommend the pier cafe, and we had a wonderful time clay pigeon shooting with Gregor at Ledard Farm. Only one thing would have made our stay better - we should have booked for a week not a weekend ! Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful home with beautiful views
This was exactly what we were looking for. It was beautiful and easy to enjoy. The only glitch was that the road in was very narrow and the day we left it was closed due to flooding. There is no other way out so you just have to wait for the water to go down.

Stunning property and location
We were a group of eight friends and family Accommodation was excellent, and the location quite stunning. It is very remote which is what we wanted Some of us had bikes and cycled the length of the loch and back a distance of around 26 miles quite hilly but the views are outstanding One point to note is that there are no shops or other facilities nearby other that in Aberfoyle some 30 mins distant over a berg twisty single track road. Recognising this we took all of the food and drink we needed with us and used the excellent and well appointed kitchen and cooking facilities. The lounge is huge and comfortable with a log fire (remember to take logs kindelling and fire lighters with you) All in all a fantastic experience one we can highly recommend

Magnificent property with spectacular views!
We booked this property to enable us to meet up with another family over new year halfway between where we each lived. The communication from Angela was second to non. Angela answered messages quickly and helped us sort a lot of queries out enabling us a very smooth and easy holiday. We stayed three nights. We arrived very late on the first night so only quickly got our bearings before heading to bed. We woke up to the most spectacular views! The house it perfectly placed seconds from the loch. Lots of long rural walks nearby and a fabulous little cafe a five minute walk away. We brought two dogs with us and the house is perfectly equipped for them. The photos of the property I don’t think actually do it any justice. It’s a very large property, with a large impressive living room. Our only regret is not bringing more wood with us for the fire, but we now know for next time. The bedrooms were spacious, clean and very warm. Showers in all en suites/bathrooms are powerful. Kitchen is well equipped and has the great addition of having two large fridges and freezers - very handy for a large party. We will definitely be returning to this property and we are already looking to book again.

Lovely stay in July
Our second visit to Stronachlacher, this time in the lodge, was just as wonderful as the first. Great communication and the house worked out great for us to have a super relaxing time with just jaw dropping views. Thank you

Great Family Holiday
What a fabulous place to stay for our 4 night family holiday. Plenty of room for our group of 7 adults and 3 children to relax and enjoy this great location. Really enjoyed sitting in the spacious lounge area looking out over the beautiful view of Loch Katrine. The kitchen was large and modern and has everything we needed. Bedrooms were spacious and beds comfy. Lovely quiet location, but still with plenty of things in the area to explore. Would certainly recommend Lochside house to anyone looking for a special place to stay.

Perfect for family gathering
A group of 7 adults stayed 3 nights for a family gathering. The property itself is amazing, very generous room sizes and views to die for from most rooms. I’d describe the interior as comfort over style, and some things looked a wee bit tired. But I’d still highly recommend it. The cafe by the pier is VERY good, and much more than a tea room. They do take away food as well. Overall, a fantastic place that will stay with me forever.

Amazing
Gorgeous house and location simply breathtaking. The house was really large and easily accommodated our large family of 10. The sheer size of the living areas was amazing but also set up in a comfy way. Everything that we needed was there. The views from most of the rooms were unreal, simply gorgeous. We took a boat trip from the pier also which is just a 2 min walk from the house. The owners were so accommodating but also left us to it, even sent on some clothes we forgot to pack. Honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Happy time at Lochside House
Overall we had a very positive experience. The location is stunning and the house spotless and spacious . The kitchen is large and well equipped. On the downside as noted by others the house could do with some updating . A new fridge freezer would be welcome . We planned to have a barbecue but the equipment was very poor and needed extensive cleaning . Perhaps the most concerning was the fact the toilet seat in our en suite was not properly attached . Larger, more substantial towels would be appreciated. These minor quibbles can be remedied easily and did not detract substantially from a very enjoyable family ( 9 using all 5 bedrooms) experience. The value for money was excellent.

A Breath of Fresh Air
Me and my fellow classmates were in great need of sometime away from Edinburgh. After a difficult year completing a Masters program in the middle of a pandemic far away from home, this was the perfect escape from the pressures of city/school life. The home was amazing; from the beautiful scenery to the comfortable furniture that promote relaxation and reflection. Communication with Angela was exceptional! She was attentive and quick to give us any additional support we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to take a break in a serene environment!

Cracking Autumn Break
What a stunning location.. had brilliant autumn sun which made the place even better. ! To be fair it’s a lovely pad it just needs a tiny bit of TLC to make it luxurious but it’s perfectly ideal for being dog friendly and it’s fair for the price. Will defo be back . Thanks so much . Nick

What a breathtaking location!!!
This is a very special place. The location is everything!!! The house was super clean and a great size for our family of 7. We enjoyed the walking & took our own kayak to go loch kayaking. We visited Aberfoyle & Callander, both were lovely little towns. Would highly recommend.

Fab wee stay at lochside House!
we had a fab time at lochside House. Location was fab being right on the loch and house was great. Very spacious, plenty of room for our friends and children. The only thing we would say is the WiFi is not great at all... though I am not sure if there is anything could be done about it. We will definitely come back xx

So glad you had a great stay. We're sorry you experienced slow WiFi. We discovered that a previous guest must have "borrowed" the power supply to the controller to the satellite broadband, which meant that the system was not functioning properly. It's not the fastest system even when fully functional, but unfortunately this is the best possible solution in such a remote location, where fibreoptic cable is not an option, and normal broadband works at snail's pace. The satellite is now working again, so hopefully next time you come it will be satisfactory for your needs. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Stunning location and great value
We really enjoyed our stay & had great comms from owners/managers, esp when booking. The location could not be better- stunning views & a nearby private road, running along lochside, makes for great walks & runs with kids. Also enjoyed activities on nearby Loch Ard with Go Country & bike hire from Aberfoyle. House was very good value & kitchen well stocked with equipment. Lovely large communal rooms, with fab views. The competitive price perhaps reflects our sense property could do with a bit of investment in places (e.g. one plug socket was hanging out of wall in back bedroom & one curtain in lounge fell off while we were there) but we certainly had no major issues & all enjoyed stay. However, worth noting: the original ad said wifi was available for £10. We booked in basis we would have Wi-Fi but when we asked about wifi after booking, we were told it was limited and we were asked not to use much data. Since mobile phone signal V poor, even without work related usage (which some of our party wanted), we needed to use wifi (to search & book local activities) and were slightly frustrated by intermittent access and request to limit our usage, given we'd purposefully booked somewhere with wifi. All that said, we had a lovely stay & would definitely consider returning.

A ropey start however is ers did everything possible to help even sending a neighbour to make sure we were ok. As in our 70s we found the beds a bit low for us but got used to it. Suggested tv use I instructions be left but again owners could not have been more helpful. Would have loved more info on local eateries available due to covid19 and openi g hours for the nearby Pier. Plenty crockery etc and some stuff like salt and ketchup in fridge. Very clean neat and tidy. All in all we had a lovely break.

The most perfect Scottish getaway!!
This is a really large, beautiful, warm, well equipped, comfortable 5 bedroom house, set in the most stunning Scottish loch-side landscape. The drive from Glasgow was so easy and we found many great local walks. The nearby Pier cafe is great. The owners are super friendly and helpful. We were a group of 6 staying for 4 nights - and everyone loved their visit. We would HIGHLY recommend this property and will return!

THE perfect family getaway property and location. Couldn't recommend it more highly
From the moment of booking the owner made us feel incredibly special and welcome. Stunning views and drive into the property that left us all breathless with excitement and the house was even more spectacular. Large enough to fill with even the biggest of families yet homely and comforting for an intimate get away with the central feature in the main living room being a log fire that just helped to drain away stress. We brought the Nerf armory with us for this trip and unwound in the evenings by flying around the house like we were all in a James Bond movie and we did do after first seeking permission from the owners, who although looked at us with strange raised eyebrows, accommodated us so brilliantly well. Thank you Angela you made my entire family happier than you could ever imagine. All the bedrooms were immaculate and the house served as a great vase for us as we explored Sterling, Pitlochary, Kinloch Rannoch, Avimore and Loch Ness in our 5 day stay. The drives to all locations were stunning. The local Co-op is just a short 25 minutes away and the local pubs were friendly and had brilliant atmospheres all round. When you look at the idealic picture of this property be assured that the experience of staying here matches that and some. Thank you Angela. Paul Morgan

Lovely Spacious Home With Amazing Views
Relatively easy to get to yet you feel like you're getting a taste of the Highlands. Very comfortable, perfect for family get-togethers, with everything you need, this is a home we'd be happy to return to again and again. And the owners provide a lot of handy information to make your stay as wonderful as possible​.

It was a pleasant stay during month of July for 10 people.It was neatly kept ,kitchen equipments well maintained.Probably would benefit from wine bottle opener. The lounge was spacious with old DVD, books and kids games.

Beautiful Loch view, loved the kitchen & living room
We had a lovely time staying here. The kitchen is large and well stocked. We loved the large living room and most of the bedrooms have a view of the Loch. Depending on the time of day (and night) and the weather, the view changed and was always incredible. We had lunch at the nearby Pier Cafe, which I recommend. It is an easy drive to Glasgow and the William Wallace Monument. Angela is very nice and was very helpful answering all our questions. The only thing I will add is that the picture shows the entire building which actually houses several separate dwellings so you are not paying to stay in that entire building. The rental is, however, huge so there is plenty of room for lots of people.

Wonderful, big house located directly on Loch Kathrin, 100% 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😍
The house is really nice and offers plenty of space for a bigger group of people as it has a big living room with cosy fireplace, a really big and well equipped kitchen, a big table where you can gather to eat. Also really nice sleeping rooms with enough showers/toilets. The location of the house directly on the loch is priceless and the views are breathtaking… Scotland at its best, hope to come back soon!

Der Weg lohnt sich!!!
Hat man den gut halbstündigen, etwas abenteuerlichen Weg von Aberfoyle nach Stronachlachar hinter sich gebracht, wird man im "Lochside House" mit ist einem super eingerichteten und großzügig geschnittenen Teil der Stronachlachar Lodge belohnt. Im Erdgeschoss findet sich der Essbereich, die sehr geräumige Küche und das geradezu dekanend wirkende Wohnzimmer mit Sitzecke im Erker. Die im Obergeschoss befindlichen Schlafräume haben eine angenehme Größe und die Badezimmer sind modern ausgestattet. Die Aussicht auf Loch Katrine und die umliegenden Berge ist einfach nur phantastisch! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt mit Freunden hier sehr genossen!
