To address our lone, recent, negative review. Its been bothering me that he didn't verbally or by text inform me of any rectifiable complaints despite speaking with and texting me while I'm in the house right next to the cottage during his stay.
Currently the cottage has wifi but the TV refuses to connect to it. Tried an extender to no avail. The TV will function when connected to a mobile hotspot like your phone and you can connect your phone to the wifi coming from the house and use it as a relay to the tv. Game Console or DVD player available upon request. This was offered to the guest. Sorry, my new wifi router doesn't like 100 year old stone walls.
The toilet tank was loose. If you tell me of an issue with the cottage I'll happily remedy it immediately. Which I did once I saw the review. Wiping the tank down doesn't make it wobble so I hadn't noticed.
I assume he means the mini split. It had some dust on it the swiffer left. I lysol wiped it down.
I know the door on the chimney says stove clean out, its not a clean out. Its the access hole into the original chimney I cut and then installed a service door on. It accesses the chimney pipe. The chimney liner is swept yearly. Its not clogged. Just dirty. I would't recommend opening it.
"Walk way is unsafe". He could mean the 1940's era concrete pavers that my bicentenial oaks roots have shifted slightly. Or the section of 'new' 1990's era walkway thats sunk a little to create a lip by the rose bush. Or the 1960's era section where I believe a gazebo was removed leaving an unusual edge. None of it is crumbling or shifting. This is a very old farm. I'm not going to kill those trees for a new walk way.
The front door opens easily if pulled to you from the outside or pushed from the inside while locking or unlocking the deadbolt. Having the door that tight is the only way I could get the very old door to seal on the weather stripping without installing a new handle on it. I wanted to keep the original door and handle.
You'll have to forgive the first cabinet I've made. It does make sticking your head in the sink more of a chore. Its on my list of things to do. Which when you live on a farm is very, very long.
I would have given a chair had I been asked for one. There are no extra chairs in the pictures and the whole cottage is shown. Its a small space. I fitted what I could, where I could. There are 2 TV trays in the cottage and if I can find a stool that will fit in the cabinet cubby I will add it.
No desk... what can I say. The counter top is the desk I used when I and my wife lived in the cottage. I sat on the bed when using it as a desk. I didn't claim to have a desk in the amenities list.
If you got to this point. Thanks for reading to the bottom. Hope you enjoy your stay. Please let us know if you need anything. We live a stones throw from your rural cottage getaway.
