What an incredibly charming guest house! Well appointed, comfortable, close to downtown. The gardens were lovely, even in a chilly January. The heater worked well and it had to work hard bc of the cool weather we had while there! The host was instantly available and directions were easy/accurate. I would definitely stay again.
We had a lovely experience at the Linwood Cottage. The hosts are wonderful, very attentive and quick with communication. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The place itself was a slice of heaven. The gardens were beautiful. We will be back the next time we are in South Carolina.
The grounds are beautiful Lovely sitting area outside and nice screened in porch. Nice size bedrooms Kitchen was equipped with what we needed Close to restaurants
We loved staying in this cute cottage! Plenty of room & very clean. The gardens were beautiful.
Perfect location for us! Thank you for sharing with us & we will be back for a longer stay!!
Very nice cottage in a great location - walking distance from many restaurants, and event locations. Property in a quiet location, surrounded by large trees. Owners very responsive to any questions we had during our two week stay.
We stayed at the 1920 house, absolutely beautiful.
Loved the history of the property. We were free to walk the grounds of the historic house.
It was close to down town.
I would definitely go back when I'm in town again.
LOVED IT!
This cottage is juat perfect for our family of 4. It was perfectly located and very close to downtown Summerville. Short drive to Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, and etc. The cottage had everything we needed and was a nice and peaceful place tonreat after visiting all tourist sites all day. The check-in and check-out process were a breeze and management was very helpful!
I so enjoyed the peace and quiet, lovely SC front porch, and location. Plenty of space and very kind owners. Highly recommend. I booked for two months awaiting construction of new home. Such a lucky decision. Couldn’t have been happier and fell in love with Summerville.
I first visited the property 16 years ago. I returned to share it with my husband this time. It's location in Summerville is perfect. Just close enough to ride into Charleston, but far enough and so green with mature foliage it feels like you're secluded, when we needed to rest. We enjoyed homecooked meals on the front screened porch and card games later in the evening on the back screened porch. A frog visited with us too! We enjoyed local fare at Low Country Fish Camp and Cafés in town, checked at the huge pizza at Benny's and we loved the Farmer's market on Saturday morning. We walked, Kayaked and rode bicycles and had great adventures. Having the 1920s guesthouse as homebase was great! The 4th fireworks at Gahagan Park were amazing! We will be back!
The property was very nice and the house was so charming and so cute! We also loved that it was so close to the historic town. We enjoyed everything about the property, the house and had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. We loved everything about it and would definitely stay there again. It was great! The host and property manager were both very nice and kept in contact to make sure we had a great stay and time there. We also enjoyed looking at the book they have in the house that told you all about the property, the flowers on the property, and the history of houses. Very cool! We also did the walking tour to see all of the other historic places around which was also in the book they had left. It’s such a cute town and the property was amazing. It did not disappoint.
The residence was a very nice n relaxing place to stay. Loved the garden areas around the house. Owner was very nice to visit with as well. Was nice to hear about the grounds. Very comfortable n homey. Also loved the front porch(for morning book reading n coffee) and the back sunroom was nice to look at the gardens. Plenty of rum for three of us in the cottage. Would highly recommend.
Annual Sisters weekend, w/concert @North Charleston Coliseum, was a great respite. Our accommodations were everything we hoped it would be...cozy, convenient and reasonably priced! Farmers Market and shopping were a bonus!
Fri-Sun just wasn’t enough time to spend in this lovely little town in this most welcoming spot. Close to everything and yet everything you needed to feel right at home. I hope our ventures take us back to Summerville and Linwood Cottages.
This is a darling 1920s cottage. Everything was wonderful and so cute. We had a fantastic time and would definitely stay there again

Could Use Alot of TLC
My husband and I recently rented the 1920's guest house in Summerville, SC, for a week. This house has great potential and we really wanted to give it high marks, but sadly it fell short. Certainly it's adorably quaint, and sits in a beautiful garden setting. However, that isn't enough to overlook the problems. Our first morning we were awakened by the sound of the gardner, using a gas engine trimmer on the hedge below our bedroom window at 8:00 a.m. Time to get up! The mattresses are worn out, and should be replaced. There was mold in the shower, lots of sand and dirt under the bedroom rug and the entire house is in severe need of a deep clean. I was frustrated that the porch table was so dirty I had to clean it before I sat down our breakfast plates. The kitchen skillets were very worn as was the limited flatware set. We made several trips to the local stores because it didn't even stock the barest of supplies, so before you go, here is the list: Paper Towels; Large Kitchen Bags; Dishwasher Powder and Dishwashing liquid. We have owned a beach house rental for 5 years, and understand that guests expect to get what is advertised for the money they are paying.
The property is absolutely beautiful. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend. Linda and Peter the owners of the property are lovely and make you feel that their home is yours

Pretty, but needs lots of repairs
In our opinion: The home was missing a minimum of two smoke detectors. The house needs a thorough cleaning before each renting., ie. pots and pans were greasy, window blinds in bedroom had so much cobwebs, it appeared not to have been cleaned in a long time. Cobwebs also in other parts of the home. The guest bathroom looked un pleasant , ie, caulking done around the bathtub needs to be removed and reapplied by a professional. Some baseboards needs replacing, others cleaned, painted and new caulking applied by a professional. The shower curtain had a lot of mold. We washed it two times in 3 weeks but mold did not come out. It needs replacing. My wife would not use the guest bathroom. We sanitized all usable areas of the kitchen.
