"As usual we found The Vine up to it's usual high standard. The staff are undoubtedly the stars. We have lost count of how many times we have stayed here. It is ideally situated close to the centre of Funchal. One new feature we found was the Sunday evening buffet with entertainment by the Madeira Folklore group. Excellent value, with an incredible hot and cold buffet, drinks included. Highly recommended, and we will certainly be booking our place on our next visit. Also worth a mention is the spa treatment, incredible massages. Thanks once again to the incredible staff for looking after us so well."

The only downsides are that the hotel is far from Funchal and most other tourist landmarks/hiking trails, which is inconvenient. Overall it was an amazing stay if you want to relax but if you want to explore the island I’d recommend staying in Funchal."
