Chalet in "The Woods" with Stunning Views

Come and get away from it all in the West Kootenays. This is a luxury home just minutes away from the eclectic town of Nelson. It’s an ideal place for you and your family to unwind or work remotely; with high speed internet, large windows providing plentiful light, and spectacular views of a majestic forest and snow capped mountains.

This is a 3 +1 bedroom, 2 bathroom home on a private 15 acre retreat with soaring trees, a bubbling creeks, a 60’ waterfall and a private beach on Kootenay Lake.

The upper floor of the home is a large open concept master suite that contains the master bedroom, master bathroom, laundry facilities, and a third bedroom.

The large master bedroom contains a king bed and two bay windows with comfortable seats where you can gaze along the river valley and surrounding woods. Linens have been carefully selected.

The master bathroom is remarkable. Double sinks, a large shower, and a freestanding soaker tab that overlooks the mountain valley. Picture yourself in a luxurious bubble bath indulging in a glass of wine while looking at the mountains and river beyond. Ahhh.

The second bedroom is on the main floor adjacent to the second bathroom. It contains a queen bed. Large windows allow plentiful light and stunning views of the property.

The third bedroom is on the upper floor adjacent to the master bedroom. It has a standard size twin bed. It is a cosy space that was originally built as a media room. As a result, it does not have windows however the walls and floor contain noise insulating material. It is an excellent option for anyone who is noise sensitive while sleeping. It is in the hallway in close proximity to the master bedroom - which can be advantageous for little ones.

The fourth sleeping space is in the upstairs hallway in a cozy alcove. It is comprised of a luxurious velvet trundle bed that has a standard twin mattress on top and a second standard twin mattress that can be pulled out from underneath. It is an excellent option for both adults and children.

The main floor also contains a gourmet chef's kitchen. Stainless steel appliances, gas range, marble countertops, 3 sinks and a sumptuous island with a breakfast bar set the stage for memorable meals at home. The kitchen also contains a desk space. It is an excellent area to catch up on some emails or for the children to complete the craft while the adults are cooking dinner.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room. Two-story vaulted ceilings, comfortable furniture, a gas fireplace and entertainment system nestle you in mountain charm. We are grateful to have high speed internet powered by satellite and we make every effort to ensure you have an uninterrupted WiFi connection. The television is serviced by AppleTV which provides access to Netflix, Disney+ and Prime.

Steps down from the kitchen is the solarium. The walls are covered in floor to ceiling windows and there are skylights galore. A dining room suite is in place and ready for your enjoyment.

If that wasn't enough, the outdoor spaces are devine! An exquisitely large deck contains patio furniture and a shade umbrella, ready for relaxing afternoons watching the birds and eagles soaring overhead. The home is surrounded by perennial and annual gardens showcasing the bounty of the Kootenay growing season. Feel free to harvest treasures from the vegetable garden, herb garden, and orchard. In the winter, the property is a wonderland full of snow capped trees and tobogganing hills.

While visiting we recommend meandering along the property’s many pathways. Perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of roaming elk, deer and even turkeys. A stunning walk through the forest takes you to a secluded beach on the shores of the Kootenay River. It's simply breathtaking.

We are exceptionally grateful that this home has central heating and air conditioning. When the temperatures outside soar, you can be in climate-controlled comfort. When it’s frosty, you’ll be cozy and warm.

A brand new 7 person hot tub is thoughfully placed on a on a purpose build outdoor landing. While melting your stress away, enjoy views of the mountains, valley and lake. (This amenity is shared with the other dwellings on the property)

This home is truly is a treasure. We cannot wait to share with you and your family.

In the summer you can enjoy a swim in the lake, or float your inner tube down the Slocan River. There is also great shopping, museums, coffee shops and galleries in the historic town of Nelson to top off your day.

In the fall you have your choice of rivers to drop in a fly and enjoy the flyfishing that British Columbia is famous for.

In the winter, Whitewater Ski Resort is 20 minutes away or Red Mountain less than an hour away. Heli-Skiing and Cat-skiing are also locally available. There are multiple nordic ski trails to choose from and endless trails for snowshoeing.

What a wonderful place to escape the pandemic and get in touch with nature!

Having your own vehicle is highly recommended.

Luxury small wedding
This luxury home and deck overlooking the Kootenay lake made for the most intimate and beautiful wedding! Parents of the groom and bride shared this house where we hosted a rehearsal dinner, the most stunning wedding dinner on the deck and a Sunday brunch. The kitchen has everything you could dream of, and working together for an elegant meal or serve yourself was surprisingly stress free. Room for lots of helping hands and counter space to prepare or serve. I can’t decide what the best part about the venue was as the main events were a perfect set up, the private hikes back and forth to the beach for days of fun, great games area for evenings, and as the parents we got such decadence in the tub built for star gazing, wonderful peaceful sleep, and coffee on the deck in the morning (the rest of the wedding party and guests stayed in the other two homes on the same property.) We would highly recommend it a for special events and gatherings for all ages. For those considering a small event, the deck for a wedding of 22 people was great! Chairs and tables were rented by a great young couple from J&J Rentals, Beautiful video done by Beansprowt media. Cakes by Betty. Flowers by Hummingbird Farms. Great Kootenay businesses and people!
