These cameras in no way infringe upon guests' privacy, and monitor exterior portions of the home exclusively. The road to the home requires 4WD & snow tires in the winter months. Decks and BBQ grills may NOT be available during winter months, exterior areas may be icy. This home is not equipped with AC. Per Placer County Short term rental laws, quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am, and no street parking is permitted at any time, including boats and trailers. We recommend purchasing 3rd party trip insurance if you have concerns about canceling your reservation.
Cancellation Policy / Cancellation fee: If cancellation is made more than 60 days of arrival, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will be applied. If the cancellation is made within 60 (or less) days of arrival, the entire rent will be retained unless Wells and Bennett Realtors is able to re-rent the specified property. If the property is re-rented, a cancellation fee of $100 plus the 4% booking fee will still apply, but the remainder of rent will be refunded after the replacement guests have checked out.

The place is clean and well maintained. TVs in every room was nice. WIFI was great. Kitchen and main family area was perfect. The location is great. Only about 15 minutes to North Star.
Knotty Bear Cabin is a warm and cozy home with a well stocked kitchen. Instructions for self check-in were clear. When we arrived we found a clean and organized home. Our six year old son was comfortable here. I've stayed in a lot of rental homes and this one was definitely the best.
Our family of 4 enjoyed a week of vacation. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. The location is convenient to the beaches, hiking, dining, and grocery. We would definitely come back to rent again.

This was our first stay in Lake Tahoe, a chance to vacation with our son and his young family (5-year old twins). The house was perfect, a good layout with one bedroom upstairs and two downstairs. It is well furnished and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking or grilling. Location is very convenient to several lake towns, shopping, and the beach.
We had an amazing time at this house during the Christmas week. There was a winter storm so we landed up spending more time at home than we had planned. The open layout of the kitchen and living room with lots of big windows to enjoy watching the snowfall with a fire or a movie and hot chocolate kept us happy and cozy. It was very clean and comfortable. All of us - 2 teenage kids, two dogs and grandma - really enjoyed the stay. Snow play area is at walking distance so it was very convenient to visit that whenever the storm paused. We even walked with the dogs to the King’s beach area. The highlight was the well equipped kitchen which got us started while we got our groceries in order and replenished some. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend time with the kids as it is our older one’s last winter at home before heading off to college. Will be coming back for sure!
We rented the Knotty Bear Cabin for a week in July 2022. The cabin is a beautiful house, very well furnished and decorated, great floor plan, very clean, has everything needed for a great stay, in wooded neighborhood. We greatly enjoyed our stay. We will return. The DeClercq family
