For a group of two couples, we suggest our large Mangy Moose cabin or separate small cabins or suites in our newly renovated lodge for more room to stretch out. Room 1 has some over door hooks and you are the first to mention the need in Room 2. We appreciate your input and Room 2 will be getting some hooks installed very soon! We're sorry to hear you were not happy with your stay. Although Talkeetna is a historical, remote location, there are laws here. We have signage at the front of the property that follows regulations, same as most Talkeetna businesses. Billboards are not permitted here. We are always available by phone for directions as we were when your wife called to guide you in. We email detailed directions to the property 2 days before arrival. We have checked and the email that went out to you had the full directions, but it appears it printed with a large part missing. Not sure why and we apologize if it was anything on our end. Usually putting the address into a cell phone will bring you to the property also.As we have explained, we do not choose the accommodation for you or for any guest staying with us. Our accommodations are all unique so it is the guests' choice at time of booking. We are then notified by the agent, Orbitz in your case, that a reservation for a specific accommodation was made. Even if we did choose, we could not know your ages on your reservation. We do have numerous photos and descriptions of our cabins and rooms on our website and Expedia and other sites. In that description, we do state that there is an attic style drop down ladder to the sleeping loft that has a low ceiling and it is perfect for kids and young adults. Unfortunately, Orbitz does not allow us to share a description, only pick amenities from a drop down menu. This could be what led to the confusion. We are going to add photos of the ladder up to the loft to hopefully help avoid the misunderstanding happening again. We usually recommend our first floor rooms and first floor suite in our newly renovated lodge for anyone with difficulty ascending stairs.Fortunately, our larger cabin was available and we were happy to upgrade you. Please keep in mind that, since your reservation was through Orbitz, we are not able to cancel your original reservation on your behalf. They require the reservation holder to make any changes. We made an exception as a courtesy since you were having problems communicating with Orbitz. We hope this clears things up a bit and you will decide to stay with us again should you return to Talkeetna. We hope you have a wonderful time and a safe trip home!

We apologize it was noisy for you. We do consider 10pm to 7am quiet time on the property and try to be courteous when guests might go to bed earlier. We attempt to get late arriving guests in as quietly as possible. We thank you for your feedback and will certainly keep this in mind for future guests.

Hello and thank you for staying with us. We appreciate your review. If you should visit Talkeetna again we do have a bigger cabin that might be more suitable to your taste. The Mangy Moose Cabin has a large open first floor with a full kitchen, living room with 2 sofas and a futon, and bathroom. The sleeping areas are on the second floor and have 3 beds in each of two rooms. Considering our property is in a beautiful birch forest, we do what we can to reduce the amount of mosquitoes including keeping a plug in mosquito deterrent on the porch of the cabins, a plug in bug light and a swatter inside for the ones that sneak in. We sincerely hope you enjoyed your Alasakan adventure!

Thank you for the review. We love to hear guests were comfortable. We do have some guests that walk the +/- 2 miles to town and enjoy the scenic walk but we realize a 2 mile walk isn't for everyone. We hope to see you again on your next Talkeetna adventure!

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we agree, all cabins should have mirrors. We ordered new mirrors for the cabins after doing some updating this spring. Unfortunately, it has taken longer than expected to get the new ones in and hung. Smores kits are a good idea! We'll have to look into that. We're so glad you made some special family memories in the Snoozin Moose Cabin!
