Disliked: Check-in, communication, location
I originally booked this property four months in advance. When the day arrived to travel from home to the rental property, I had not received any communication from the host on how to access the property even by check-in time at 4:00 pm. I ended up having to call the Vrbo customer service line who was able to reach the host, the instructions were sent shortly after, however since we waited to leave until we had the instructions we got into Tampa late into the evening. When we arrived to the property, it was a little unsettling, the neighborhood was not located in a kept up area of Tampa, there were multiple people standing around in the street at night near the home as well as homeless people on the corner. The house it self was nice. We were traveling with three children and did not feel comfortable staying in the area so we had to pivot to finding a hotel for the weekend. I communicated with the host the concerns as well as asked for the second night to be refunded due to the complications of the trip, but have not heard back as of yet.
