Great stay

The property was great! Right on the water with relaxing views to drink morning coffee and relax. Sunset bar and grill is a great way to end the evening with spectacular view of the sun going down and good food.

WEEKEND GETAWAY

Needed a break from reality and stumbled upon Little Harbor in Ruskin FL. The apartment was perfect for two and we were able to walk to two pools, a hot tub, two bar/restaurant choices, a private beach and beautiful sunsets. Food and drinks cost more than expected, but it was only for the weekend so we managed.

Ruskin Fun

We had a really good time at our Ruskin property. Nice pool great restaurants and easy beautiful scenery! We could walk to any of our destinations at Little Harbor. The only negative is the condo is very small and we did get tired of being in such a small space. Otherwise, great time!

Quality Time

Surprised my husband with a quick, kid free wk end. We enjoyed watching the dolphins and manatees in the water. The restaurants and pools was a great added bonus. We had an absolutely great time. It was just what we both needed. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Marilin, for your quick responses. Your place was decorated well and very clean. Location was amazing too.

Short stay

We stayed from Sunday to Saturday! Called Manager Sunday told them shower wasn't working. Never received reply. The security light comes on at 7:00 at night and stays on till 7:30 a.m. no way to turn it off. So . Looks like the lights are on very hard to sleep! I'm a positive note. The hot tub was nice and we saw dolphins in the morning

It was a perfect little apt. Very clean and had everything we needed supplied. The resort area it is lovely and has enough options to keep you busy. It's not far from other activities and the host was lovely. Only down side I can give is a broken sink that stayed clogging all weekend. And there was a spider issue no fault of the owner at all it Florida and bugs are a given. However somehow at least 6 were found in the bed. We had to stipe and shake out beds. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be returning.

Time well spent

Nice unit we enjoyed it. Only issue was the sofa bed was really uncomfortable to sleep on, I think is time to replace the couch. Also the bathroom sink stopper wasn’t able to raise up and down it needs to be replaced, water kept filling up. Also it will help to have curtains that block off the light from outside not so easy to fall asleep it feels really bright.

Perfect Getaway`

If you're seeking a low-maintenance escape, this is your spot. We loved both pools. The larger pool was heated, and the smaller pool was more secluded. We spotted dolphins multiple times in the nearby waterway. The private beach was awesome, and both restaurants were conveniently within walking distance. Although we didn't dine there, the prices seemed reasonable. The weekend nightlife at Sunset Grill and Beach Bar was lively! The only issue we encountered was a faulty outlet for the Keurig, easily resolved by relocating it. The fitness facility exceeded expectations, surpassing typical hotel gyms. The room was very clean, and we felt very safe as we frequently saw security. Definitely would go back.

Ruskin Trip

Perfect for myself, my husband and our 13yo son. 2 pools and 1 hot tub that you will have access to; all nice sizes. Security makes their presence known, so you feel very safe. Sunset Grill was great!! Didn’t eat at Hooks, but did get a couple drinks. All people we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. Host was great! Shower was weird with only a half door, do water does get on floor. Easy enough to put a towel down and we moved the toilet paper to the little cabinet so it wouldn’t get wet. Also, there is only a mini fridge so be mindful of leftovers!! My only complaint is that it needs a small, full size fridge for drinks and whatnot! Oh! Also, if you are a coffee drinker, bring your own coffee pods!! Great little place!! Great little area!! Would definitely come back!!!

Decent room for the price

I've stayed at this motel a few times for business. Its main advantage is the location—very convenient for work, with beautiful water views on both the bay and river sides of the property. The highlight is definitely the two waterfront tiki bars and the on-site restaurant, which create a relaxing atmosphere after a long day.The rooms are all about the same size—clean but dated. Some have been updated, but others are still quite old. The bathrooms in particular leave a lot to be desired: they’re small, with outdated fixtures and an awkward shower design. You can’t turn on the water without getting wet at this particular room. Be prepared—this is more of a motel setup, not a full-service hotel. There’s no coffee or breakfast provided, so plan to bring your own or go out to eat.While the nightly rate seems low, there are additional fees (like cleaning, hosting and taxes) that add up quickly. Also, be aware that bookings are non-refundable. I originally booked for three nights but only needed two due to a change in plans—and unfortunately, I had to pay for all three.Overall, if it weren't for the view and the on-site tiki bars, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. But if location and a laid-back atmosphere are your priorities, it might be worth considering—with realistic expectations.

Very nice but some issues

There was no hot water in the shower. The knob would not turn enough to allow the water to get hot. The sofa mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Would suggest blackout curtains as the outside lights were very bright. An extra blanket would have been nice too. It was odd that there was only one shower door and it was immovable. Water got all over the floor. Also, the advertisement listed "Beach Studio Apartment" with a picture that insinuated you could step out your door and onto the beach. This was not the case. It was in fact on the intracoastal which was beautiful. The beach was within walking distance. Otherwise, the unit was clean and the area was very nice.

What To Know About Our Trip

I rate the location a 5, cleanliness of the apartment a 3, and communication with the owner a 0. At the time of this review, the apartment needed some TLC. It appeared to us that there is not much care in taking care of it. There was a musty smell, not overwhelming, but noticeable. Half a shower door was glued to the bathtub which made it hard to turn on the shower. Zip ties holding up a plastic shower curtain. The drain-stop in the sink was defective and needed to be taken out which was all rusted. The rest wasn't that bad, bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, no bed bugs, no roaches or rodents, etc. There was an ironing board but no iron. I tried to contact the owner on three separate occasions using three different methods and I never heard back. We ended up buying a small iron at the nearest Publix. That added an annoying inconvenience but at least we didn't have to run around with wrinkled clothes. I did not receive check out instructions but pretty much knew the drill, take out the trash and clean up the place. Not sure why the owner never contacted us back, but it would have been nice to get some sort of heads up.

Great Stay

First, all the good -- this property was SPOTLESS. Good location, great communication, and WELL worth the price. We would definately stay again if we are in the Tampa/Ruskin area. We enjoyed the Sunset Bar and Grill every night we were there and Hooks for the occasional lunch. The workout facility is fantastic and the deeper pool was wonderful. The jacuzzi is not heated and we heard that has been an ongoing issue -- but didn't really effect us. The shampoo dispenser did not work and the hair dryer really needs to be replaced. It is cracked and a fire hazard. Our only complaint: Please get blackout curtains. That light outside is as bright as day and your curtains are not sufficient to block it out. We duct taped a towel to the light to keep it from keeping us awake. Other than that, your place is great -- and you describe it well on the site -- it is NOT a traditional VRBO place -- it is a hotel room with some cooking options -- but we didn't go there to cook. Anyone who says it is not clean is nuts. Thank you!

Not The Most Convenient

The overall property was nice and our unit had nice waterfront with views of dolphins, pelicans and boats. The unit itself could’ve used a dresser or cabinet or even under bed drawers for clothes. Ironing board but no iron, had to push up the shower by putting finger inside faucet and pushing it up as shower knob was stripped. Only 1/2 shower panel so water leaked out on to floor and toilet paper holder always got wet so we ended up moving toilet paper. Bed was comfortable. Lots of time spent driving to beaches, restaurants and shopping. I couldn’t load vrbo app on my phone as it required iOS 16.0 or higher so I had no communication other than when we arrived we got a welcome email. I kept trying to communicate but I needed the app which I couldn’t download. There was no information binder in the room regarding what do we do upon checkout? Do we pull linens, empty trash, set the thermostat at a certain level etc etc.

Just what the body needed
