Our stay was wonderful. We were in the one-bedroom cottage right by the river. It was a beautifully decorated place, clean, nicely furnished, and the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. PLUS there was a wonderful private patio and a big shade tree. All our good intentions for getting out on Saturday were lost as we relaxed out there! After a hectic week, it was lovely to kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet.

We stayed here 2 nights and absolutely loved the serene quiet environment. There is a beautiful pool and also a nice quit deck on the river with plenty of seating options. The rooms were super clean, newly decorated with everything you need. Tammy and Tom were very nice hosts and do a great job making you feel welcome. I would stay here again.

Relaxing, super clean cottage!
Exactly as promised. Fully handicapped accessible. Very comfortable in terms of the sleeping surface and temperature. The heating and cooling unit was very quiet, quick and efficient. Super pool, heated and SO clean! Full kitchen and well stocked with pots, pans, utensils. Super responsive hosts, on the property or available all the time. Would come again, and hope to!

Very private alternative then staying in a hotel. Cottages are adorable. We had 1 minor issue with our stay but Lynn was amazing at customer service and helped us out immediately

What a wonderful, unique and beautiful property! We rented a whole cabin for 4 of us, which was perfect! Spacious, quiet, staff were so friendly and there was great communication about the check in process. We arrived a bit late, but that was no problem at all! Lovely facilities around the property with access to a water down on the docks and a lovely swimming pool as well. And they even had the first cup of coffee for you in the cabin!

Loved this place. Our cottage was clean and comfortable. Love the dock so relaxing. Pool is just the right temperature. Everything about this place was great. Way better than a hotel

Porate's Pointe Resort
The little cottages were recently remodelled. They were adorable. There is a nice pool and a pontoon available for guests to use. There are deep sea fishing easily available on site. The resort was not in the city nor near city activities but there is plenyy of restaurants and activities near by!!!

My FAVORITE stay of our trip! This property was amazing my only negative is that I wish we could have stayed longer than two days. The staff was friendly. The pool was fabulous. Our room was perfect, clean, and quiet, and had a bonus rooftop patio that was great. Do not let the trailer park ( it was a nice one ) scare you. This is a gated oasis on the water. A true gem.

This was a nice property by the water. I took a walk to the dock and got to enjoy some birds. The parkling is convenient right outside the cottage. I was called multiple times regarding check nn. This is a practice some properties use in order to not staff the office. It is not my favorite. I arrived at the property between 6 and 7 pm on a Friday. The office was closed. I went to check in at 815 Saturday morning and no one was at the office. I had to interrupt my visit with family to return to the property in the afternoon in order to sign paperwork. I checked out very early Sunday morning.

Hi Jean, If you haven't arrived before 5, we call you as a courtesy, to find out your ETA, Yes, we close the office around 5ish. This call is to give instructions and to inform you of your cottage unit. It's also on the office door with a number to call after hours, if you have issues. We reopen at 8:30 a.m. We are sorry you interrupted your visit with family to sign paperwork, that is never our intentions. Unfortunately, we are a Mom and Pop facility and we have families at home also. This also is what makes up so quaint. I hope you give us a try in the future to make it up to you. Check in was smooth and easy. The resort had an ice cooler with a bag per day per guest which we really liked. Entire resort was clean and kept up. Rooms were cozy and when our light bulb in the kitchen went out we went dow to the office and it was fixed when we returned to thw room later

When I visit the area, I look first for whether this property is available. It is always clean, cute, comfortable and quiet. My dogs are happy and safe here, using the fenced patio. The folks who run the property are friendly, and it is evident how hard they work to make sure everything is right for their guests. Recommend this little oasis wholeheartedly!

Mediocre at best, seriously? We refunded money that the agent you booked with , stated you got none if you cancelled or left early. You showed, with your dog and got upset when the power went out momentarily. We explained the linemen; were working at the end of the street and we were confident it would be back on shortly..( Who by the way, did a heck of a great job getting everyone power back asap!) It was back on, within 30 minutes but you still left, You then called 911 and said we had a domestic going on and the police showed up. I told them, the only domestic was you being unhappy. As if they didn’t have enough to do, right after the hurricane.. The officer was a friend and understood! Unfortunately the electricity going in and out was not in our control. You complained you couldn’t get in the pool but the chemicals had to be balanced, before we could allow that, for your safety. It was available the next day. We go out of our way to make our guests happy, comfortable and feel welcoming. We don’t believe you ever gave it a chance considering the circumstances of all the surrounding damages from the hurricane.

Think Twice before Booking at Pirate's Pointe
I feel compelled to write a review to potentially save others from some trouble and money. The motel itself is in a decent location and appears quaint. The trouble I had was with the owner and the way this property is managed. I booked a room for a few nights several months in advance for my mother, my niece and myself. I then tried canceling a week after booking due to an extreme circumstance and gave the hotel 2 months notice. The hotel refused a refund and told me the reason is because I blocked others from being able to book, even though I only held on to the room for a week. If you book at this resort and need to cancel for any reason, regardless of your situation, regardless of how much notice you give, you will still be charged full price. The owners lack professionalism, empathy and understanding. It was a nightmare communicating with them and I would not recommend this place especially if you are from out of town. I LOVE to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, but unfortunately, this one is not good and you would be better off sticking with a chain hotel. This motel kept my money for a service that I did not recieve. Don't let the same happen to you, beware and think twice!

Well Christina, I see you're at it again! What, this is the 6th bad review you gave us, right and never visited our resort? You Love to Support Noone BUT YOURSELF! Every agency you contacted about us responded to you that we are in the rights of our booking policies, and even though you don't deserve ANOTHER respondence because they all were applauded at the obsession you have to bad mouth our business and name. So no, it's not about the money, it's about principle and holding you accountable for all of the abuse you have afforded us. You reserved a stay online, to a wedding that was never booked at our resort, nor did you know the supposedly bride, accepting the policy of no refunds when you booked, and you don't want the rules to apply to you. With that said, I was compelled to do just that until I found out you reported us to the BBB, the Hillsborough County Business Council as well as our booking agents. You don't want to abide by the rules, you agreed upon from the start. And the truth hasn't come out of your month once. Yes, your being held accountable. By the way, you get a lot more positive action with honey, than you do with vinegar! You have been put on notice by my attorneys once, so I guess you really do want that lawsuit.

We truly enjoyed our stay here we caught 2 big snooks and a huge red fish. Everyone was friendly, easy check in. Bed was comfortable, will definitely stay again!

Excellent stay
Our stay was excellent. The cottage was nice and clean. The bed was comfy. The staff was so nice to us. Lynn was so helpful with my last minute stuff. Fishing charter was set up by lynn and the captain was excellent too. We met the owners they were so kind. Even the other guest that were staying there was so friendly. We will definitely be back!
