The property was closed for renovations the day after my reservation was scheduled to begin. If I hadn't called them, I wouldn't have known that until the day I was supposed to check in.
I usually stay at the Kachina Lodge when visiting Taos. The rooms we had this time were more spacious, so that was an added bonus. Overall a nice, quiet place. I only wish that it offered breakfast.

Basically fine, you get what you pay for. There were no problems it’s just kind of old and needs updating. We didn’t spend much time in our room so it was fine. Marginally clean. Just a place to sleep.
They was exactly as expected based on previous reviews. The room and bathroom were very good size. We had no significant issues other than the TV remote. The heaters were enough to keep the room warm. We had all the the amenities expected. The room was clean.

Space Heaters...Bring Blankets.
Check in went well. Then was told i had space heaters and if i moved either one of them the power would go out in the room. The room was pretty big so the heaters helped very little. The temperature outside was -14 that night. Good thing i was by myself...was not a comfortable time. Was just glad i wasnt outside. In the morning was cold...but the water was hot!! Was like camping inside. Was a drag...just glad the power didnt go out on me again.
There was an unprecedented amount of noise from the upstairs rooms. This was not a fault of the upstairs tenants, but of the structural integrity (or lack thereof) of the building. This facility should be condemned
The renovations are looking nice. The room was clean and comfortable. I'm not sure if the room next door was a smoking room or just the porch but there was an unpleasant but mild cigarette odor in the room. I got past that. The only real problem was that the people next door made a lot of noise all night! I gave them untill 11pm to wind down even though I wanted to sleep but they only seemed to pick up momentum. I don't know what they were on but the yelling, laughing and volume of their voices didn't subside despite a call to management. They only responded by turning down the terrible music they had been blasting but that hadn't even been loud enough to drown the voices out. I got up and banged on the wall (not a thin wall) several times throughout the night with little response. I messaged management a few times but these f***ers continued until about 6am. I finally dozed off only to be awakened less than an hour later by music blaring from the other side. then the all nighters were back up. UGH! no sleep!! I should get a refund or at least a credit since I didn't even sleep there! I used to make this my go to with my family for ski trips but I was really glad I didn't bring them along this time. The front desk seemed indifferent to my complaints and I'm not sure if I will go back

Dont use the microwave!!
Check in was good. The clerk knew my name when i walked in. Was in and out in 5 minutes. Room was clean and warm. Brought my stuff into the room and left for some business i had to attend to. Came back to the room around 10pm. There was no power. I called the emergency number and they had the power back on in 20 minutes, but was told not to use the microwave because it would kill the power again. So no warming up food or drinks in the micro. Was a Apollo 13 expierence...dont open the fridge unless you turn the light off in the right order. Haha!! So was kind of paranoid that the heat would shut off in the middle of the night.
A classic New Mexican motel in Taos. Big rooms, clean, and comfortable. Close to Taos Pueblo, Taos Ski Valley, Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, and more. Friendly staff, but short handed and no breakfast due to COVID. We asked and received adjoining rooms for our stay.

We stayed here for a night to ski at the Taos . The front desk service was great . Room was big and they have amenities but just wasn't open . This served our ski purpose . The value was good . The heater was not working and the main heating source was two space heaters . We didnt feel cold at night . The pet is additional 20 just to share with anyone . Room has fridge and microwave

Family stay
Their staff was great. The only issue was that we could hear the party above us walking around all night long. If I stay there again, I would just request to stay in one of their one story buildings. Very large, spacious rooms!
Location and price are perfect for skiers. Older property that hasn’t been updated, but still a great value. No restaurant was a bummer. They used to have a great breakfast deal. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Kachina is what it is. Moderately priced with a decent location. Front desk was extremely helpful. Rooms were big. Walking distance to most things. Will stay again.

It was alright overall. The window by the bathroom had a broken lock, so we didn’t really feel all that safe. They did have a fire pit that was nice and the room was large. I feel like for the money we paid, it was just ok.
Comfotable enough, the space heaters helped to warm things up. The towels were like sandpaper, though. I don't expect a brand new towel in a hotel, but I run a short-term rental and we generally upgrade our towels every year. This one felt like it was a decade old.
This is a nice hotel, but it definitely took a hit due to COVID. However, it seems to be bouncing back. It is within walking distance to the plaza and all of the nice restaurants and shops on the Paseo. Pet friendly too.
Yes I have reviewed here before. It is my favorite place to stay in Taos. Is it the Ritz? no but for my money it has rustic charm and great amentites. I would take my family here no problem!
Our stay was a little bumpy initially when they told us up front at check-in: the room heating system hasn't been working, give it about 2 hours to warm the room." On a 7 degree night, it was not what we wanted to hear. Eventually they did offer us additional room heater and blankets but I think the communication could have been better.
Nice staff and nice clean rooms. Towels were a little stiff. Didn’t know about the pet fees associated so wish that had been more transparent in the booking. Overall good experience!
