Nice size room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, breakfast with several options. They have a few parking spots in front. Area was not my favorite but this was a good option in Taranto.
Had a great stay from the moment I Arrived Room was large and beautifully clean The meal in the Restaurant was outstanding Also the help I received in organising a taxi was quite superb

Quick stop off
This hotel, is set amongst older buildings still in need of renovation. The hotel is still ongoing renovations, kitchen of restaurant was being renovated during the stay (not noisey, just not useable). Will be lovely once done as nice outside seating which can still be used for takeaway pizza and drinks on site.
We had the top room with terrace balcony, hot pool. Room and bathroom itself small but comfy.
Lift available but still need to navigate some steps.
It was a lovely experience staying at this hotel. All the staff we encountered are so helpful and professional and what's more, it's prompt service with a smile. The room has all the functional amenities and is spotlessly clean. It was nice that we could have our own temperature control with the AC. The breakfast room was tastefully decorated. It was so nice to have a cup of tea from a china teacup. Very good continental breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
A real oasis in Taranto. The rooms are beautifully decorated and for breakfast you could order eggs or pancakes. The views from the seafront rooms are also lovely and staff very attentive. Hopefully in the future they make more of the roof terrace which feels like a bit of a waste at the moment. The area around the hotel isn't necessarily the nicest, but if you are only staying for a couple of nights and either will eat outside of Taranto or are happy to stay within the parade immediately in front then I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
Beautiful hotel. We had a room with a sea view. It was large and came with a fridge with complimentary drinks. They greet you with a welcome drink and sent us away with a regional bottle of wine. And, breakfast was spectacular with made to order selections.
I picked this property for our 25th wedding anniversary night. It was more expensive than other properties around but it was worth it. The manager gave us a sea view room and also surprised us with a free bottle of sparkling wine and some local bakings. We loved the high ceiling in the room. They helped us with a trip to Isola di San Pietro. The breakfast was also every good - here you can actually ask for almost anything and they will do it - unlike other places we stayed in Puglia - where they mostly serve continental breakfast.
Angelo and his team couldn't have done any more for us. The room we booked was not described as a seaview room, but i emailed as it was a birthday weekend stay and we had a reply confirming we were in a seaview room.
The room was spacious and exceptionally clean with a mini bar, stocked with water (and restocked daily) and pop on arrival. The bed was amazingly comfortable with sufficient pillows and nice bedspread. The seaview was of the fisherman boats looking into the little sea where you could see the mussels being cultivated. The toiletries were of good standard, as to were the coffee and tea facilites, a lavazza coffee maker and a kettle if you were a tea drinker.
The atmosphere of the hotel was lovely, and the interior design was nicely thought out, not too cluttered but also not too sparce. The old area itself is going through a lot of rejuvenation which needs a lot of money injected into it to make it ultra special but Palazzo Mata is truly a diamond in the rough.
Taranto itself was interesting. Initially we were not going to stay but after a trip to one of the nicest beaches we have ever been too, including the maldives, and a tuk tuk tour, both arranged by the lovely people at the hotel, we are so glad we did. The trip was the highlight of our 2 week tour of italy and we will definitely be back.
All the team at palazzo mata (family run) should be proud on what they have achieved and definitely made us welcomed from the food, the icecream birthday "cake" & other
Lovely hotel with friendly staff and beautiful rooms. We had a sea view room which was spacious and had lots of thoughtful touches such as complementary slippers and mini bar (soft drinks). We ate dinner in the hotel downstairs and thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks and service. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
This is an excellent small hotel in Taranto. Rooms are spacious and modern. The great staff makes up for the lack of facilities in the hotel. All in all a comfortable hotel and good value for money.
We really loved this hotel: creative restoration of a lovely old building, preserving its character yet with a sense of modernity. Glorious view of the sea! Lovely and attentive staff, and a really great restaurant.
Don’t miss it!
Perfect hotel. Great help, superb diner, friendly, smooth silk beds, own parking when available, vibrant admosfere, nice lounge in front. Few minor issues: internet slow (many hotels in Italy), shower not as hot as we wanted, extra shiplike windows in our room, no way to cover from the sunlight and be aware, ceilings and doorways in some cases low. Hurt my head going to the bathroom (1,95cm).

The rooms have fly's, I don't recommend this hotel.
Soma pieni hotelli meren rannalla jonka huoneista hieno näkymä lahdelle.
