I really enjoyed my stay at Pedras d'el Rei. Short walk to the beach. Good food in multiple restaurants. Family friendly. Friendly, helpful staff. Could be better: Parking was cramped, sometimes hard to find a space.

We stayed near end of season, atmosphere in the resort was rather tranquil, which we liked. Apartments and public areas are a little worn, but spacey and well-equipped. We even got an upgrade to a suite with a third bedroom (which we did not need as a family of 3, but overall we enjoyed the extra space). For wifi in the room we needed to rent a router, but the price of 1 Euro per day is moderate and quality was perfect. Access to the (public) beach is by a 1500m walk, but there is a small train which can be used free of charge by hotel guests.

The property is very beautiful, however we had a lot of issues with the stove in our suite. It wasn’t working properly, and two people had to come in at different times to help us fix it, which took about 1-2 hours. Then when it was “fixed”, it still didn’t work properly, and would randomly shut off and we had to keep flipping the breakers on and off for the suite. This made our cooking experience very frustrating. There was also loud construction that started in the suite next to us around 9:00 in the morning. However the staff were very friendly and nice, and the surrounding area is beautiful.

We have been passing the property for many years on our way to the lovely Barril beach nearby and it was convenient to stay one night this year. Staff were friendly, the price was right and we were not disappointed. Dinner was excellent and also well-priced in a cosy part of the bigger restaurant. The small supermarket on-site had good fresh food and the room well-equipped with kitchenette and bathroom. We would stay again !

Ich war 4 Tage mit meinem Hund in der Anlage. Außen sehr schön und gepflegt. Zimmer war in Ordnung, etwas alt und hatte nichts mit den Fotos zutun bei der Buchung. Türen u. Fenster undicht, ständiger lauter Zug durch das Zimmer. Den Zug zur Insel konnte ich leider mit Hund nicht benutzen und im Snack Bar/Restaurant sind Hunde auch nicht erlaubt, somit sehr Schade, da es nicht das Wetter für draußen war. Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt war es in Ordnung.

A estadia correu muito bem e a casa está bem situada e bem equipada. Como a varanda está exposta ao sol penso que seria simpático um chapéu de sol para poder tomar o pequeno-almoço ou almoço na rua, ou simplesmente usufruir da mesma, mas à sombra. De resto nada a acrescentar.

Entorno muy tranquilo y bonito. Buena atencion del personal. Cerca de la playa del Barril, que es casi virgen, y del pueblo de Santa Luzia donde se come un pulpo espectacular. Ideal para ir con niños.

Wir haben uns wunderbar erholt. Einfache aber saubere Unterkunft. Jeden Tag wurde gereinigt und die Betten gemacht. Alle 2 Tage frische Handtücher. Für ein Studio nicht selbstverständlich. Parkplatz und Fahrkarten für die Bummelbahn sind mit dabei. Zum Essen würde ich die nahegelegenen Lokale in Santa Lucia oder Tavira empfehlen. Wir werden wiederkommen

The downside - I had the cheapest accommodation; a studio. It was a bit tatty, the beds were incredibly hard and uncomfortable, and there was an ant problem that meant any opened food (even cereal) had to be stored in the fridge. It was very dark, with a north facing patio looking onto a weedy courtyard, and the patio doors couldn’t be opened properly as they jammed on the floor. Hot water in the shower came and went and a wall light stopped working while I was there. The upside - the grounds are lovely. It was quiet when I was there (mid May) and quite often I had the pool to myself. The location was great, a short drive to Tavira, a walk or mini train ride to the beach on the island (which is gorgeous). Staff were really pleasant and helpful. The on-site cafe is nice, I didn’t use the restaurant. The supermarket on site was a bit rubbish with limited opening hours, but there is a proper supermarket five minutes down the road. There’s no free wifi but you can rent a router for €2 a day. Would I stay again? Only if I could afford their better accommodation.
