"My family and I arrived at Wingate with a reservation for 4 nights which I made through Expedia. However, the hotel had no record of my reservation even though I could show them the confirmation number and Expedia said that it was still active (Expedia still thinks I stayed for the entire reservation). The hotel clerk just kept shuffling papers and had no idea what to do. She was unable to re-book my reservation and was only able to book us for one night in an ADA room (which I still had to pay for). The clerk attempted to contact the manager (Andi or Adi) and that was unsuccessful. The clerk took my phone number and reassured me that the manager would contact me personally to resolve the situation and that never happened. I had to reserve a different hotel for the remainder of my trip, and it cost me hundreds of dollars extra. Afterwards I checked my email and noticed that in my junk mail I received an email at 9:30am that day from Wingate that my reservation had been cancelled. I don’t understand why they would cancel the reservation the day someone was travelling and not even provide a phone call. Do not trust this hotel to honor their reservations and do not expect the manager to accept any responsibility."

"Okay so here's my honest review. I was at this hotel for 5 nights and for a multi-day business conference. What started off as a "I shouldn't booked another hotel" turned into a positive experience. The Room The bad: Outdated, dark, beat up furniture, no bottled water in room, no fridge, no microwave. The good: Best water pressure of my life, clean and an absolute fantastic bed for a good nights sleep. Come on now - put a few small bottles of water in the room rather than "upon request" as I arrived at 2am from a delayed flight. I didn't get to try room service but based on the food that was provided during the conference, I'd order without hesitation. Conference/ballroom/lobby All positive here. Updated and polished. The food provided during the conference was EXCEPTIONAL! The Staff This swayed my overall experience - they absolutely have a fantastic team from maintance, to front desk to everyone working the event. This was a true pleasure. Housekeeping was fantastic as well. The Location Free shuttle every 20 or so minutes to/from the Battery and that was a perk. Close to fantastic restaurants, a bit far from the airport but no complaints here."

"This hotel is poorly maintained. Evidence of water damage behind wallpaper and along floor. One of our rooms smelled like mildew, the other room the bathroom like flickered really badly like a strobe light. We had to ask for another room for the one with the odor. Staff was really accommodating and quickly got us into another room and comped our parking. The elevators also appeared u safe. The plexiglass back walls were poorly sealed with large gaps in the silicon which create a fall hazard. Staff were great in every interaction but the hotel is dated and not well maintained. I wouldn’t stay again."
