"Shell Island Resort is very appealing from the outside, and has a fabulous location right on Wrightsville Beach. The indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, restaurant, & Tiki Bar are also great amenities.
Unfortunately, the upkeep of the resort is not well-maintained. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed the broken balcony furniture, a dirty floor, and a broken headboard on our bed. Additionally, the hot tub by the outdoor pool was broken, and when asked, the staff had no idea when it would be repaired. Both the Tiki Bar and the on-site restaurant had odd operating hours.
If the upkeep of the hotel improves, we would consider returning for another visit."
