STAY AWAY. The Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin is infested with rodents. While having coffee in the lobby area we saw a mouse run through the room. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1 night Hotel manager still made us pay for 2 nights since we booked through Expedia (another night in HOTEL RODENT, I don't think so). And then Expedia said ther was nothing they could do. Why in the world would I EVER use Expedia agin???

As for the mice, we are doing our utmost to avoid having them visit us. Our Executive Chief Engineer has even got a apecial licence for pest control. A bit pricey, but we enjoyed or stay. It was important for us that it’s dog friendly and clean. We had a very nice view over the sea. We did find some hair in the bathroom but all together it was clean and comfy. Definitely be going back again.

Just a beautiful view over the sea and we lucked out with the weather. We rented bikes from the hotel and had a great bike ride for four hours. Would love to come back.

They couldn’t find find our reservation at check in, and made things much harder than they needed to be. Staff told me there was a shuttle to the site I needed to visit. When I tried to get it the next morning, I was told there was no shuttle that day. I was promised a taxi in 10 minutes - it took 30 to arrive. This made me late for a meeting. I was not impressed with the level of service in general. We tried to eat in the restaurant, but abandoned the attempt after 10 minutes of not being noticed by waiters. Instead we tried room service - the rare steak I ordered arrived in a reasonable time, but was substantially over cooked. I would call it well done.

Grand for a reason
Fantastic stay at a truly great hotel. Right on the beach and the food in the Breakers restaurant was fab too. Spa does miss a Jacuzzi but that would be the only remotely disappointing thing I would add.

I was at the hotel for a conference. The hotel is very nice and on the beach. It is quite far from the airport and a fact cost almost €100.

Nice place, pleasant staff, great location. The facilities are dated, but nice. In the bathroom, the sink and tub use two separate turn-valves, one cold, one hot. The shower has been updated to a single valve for temperature control. This is all fine, except that straight hot water into the sink or tub is absolutely scaling. I received a second degree burn after a one second slip. Perhaps my fault for the error, but why is the water so hot, that it leaves one paying such a price for a very simple error? Turn the temperature down...

Amazing place. Wonderful views of the ocean.If you go, pay the extra for the seaside view. Well worth it. The amenities are first class. Food was a bit pricey, We ate at the restaurant at the beach and the food was great. We were there off season (if you consider end of August off season) but there was a 35mph wind on the beach so an indoor pool was a necessity. Hours are a bit short and there were numerous children in the pool. A quiet, adults only time would have been great. Room was very luxurious with a great shower. The next morning we discovered our coffee maker was broken, and they sent up coffee right away. Great service.!
