We made a quick stop to stretch and found this beautiful church. The plaza in front of it has a wonderfully maintained garden. We only had a few minutes but I could easily spend an afternoon looking around and appreciating the sights and tastes.

Zarcero, located near the town of Sarchi, is as unique as they come, with a garden maze greeting oh at the front of the town’s cathedral. Walk along the sides of the garden to observe some timeless pieces all made from trees and bushes, featuring animal forms, faces, and even a dinosaur. As if the sights were not enough, make sure to pick up some of zarcero’s “palmito” cheese, to immerse yourself fully in the local experience!
