The city of Marysville was once predicted to surpass Helena in size but an economic downturn in 1895 put a halt to growth. The town has a few residents and businesses and wide variety of abandoned buildings.
Constructed between 1899-1902 this is Montana’s State Capitol. The statue is of Thomas Meagher who was a Civil War general and two term Montana territorial governor.

Just a bit of a weed problem! They are almost as tall as this building which makes for a nice contrast.
