"Good stay overall—clean room, friendly staff, and decent breakfast."

"The Stonefield Castle hotel has a peaceful, charming & relaxing feel. We have stayed many times. It's set in a beautiful location with fabulous views to loch Fyne & surrounded by mature gardens with lots of period charm. The staff are friendly, welcoming & attentive. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated to mirror the hotel's family history & era. The breakfast is excellent made with top local quality produce. The bar is well stocked with a great choice for all tastes especially whiskies. There are bars & restaurants in the town only a short drive away wirh an efficient local taxi service. The town has a warm friendly feel with lots to explore. Love the drive to Tarbert and our stay at the hotel. You will not be disappointed. "

"Parking was fine as we got there before car park filled up. There are no shops nearby. Our room had only a drip of cold water coming out the tap. The bed was sagging and the kettle was rusty inside. Apart from that it was warm and clean. "

"We had a great stay. Lovely place, amazing grounds, A1 service. A little confusing at first because there is a resort side and house hotel side. But staff was great explaining and getting us a person to help with our bags. Had dinner at the Cruize restaurant absolutely delicious and fresh food. Rooms excellent, lovely clean and bed was amazing comfortable. We really loved our stay. One recommendation is that the glass door in the shower is too short and there is no way the floor outside the shower doesn’t get wet. "

"Overall experience fab! My problem is solely with Hotels.com as when we arrived after booking a room for two adults and a child and then got to our room to see one double bed I popped and asked the reception about it and the (I think) manager of maybe the place or restaurant had a look for me and explained once booked through hotels.com they just pick a room and unfortunately our family rooms are all booked out and have no put up beds. With this we thought, look we are here one night, let’s just make it work,so we did. We met some friends downstairs in the restaurant at 5 for a meal and my goodness the food!! I had Katsu chicken and it was to die for. So so tasty! Followed by a chocolate brownie, wow! The food was top notch. Hubby had a bacon and cheese burger and our daughter had the kids nuggets and they also both enjoyed very much! We then went up to our room and our view was just stunning, overlooking the sea and both in daylight and at night was beautiful! We got up in the morning and there was a HUGE range of breakfast items laid out (continental) from toast, croissants, pastries, yoghurts, a good variety of cereals and so on with hot and cold drinks. My husband had the Scottish breakfast and I had eggs Benedict, again - stunning food! Would definitely come back to stay but would book direct! Thank you all"
