"The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. It was so comfortable for our family of 5 - very homey and welcoming. The tea and treat upon check-in was a nice surprise and delicious. The onsen was a relaxing bonus! "The staff was friendly and nice. The van driver gave us rides to and from Snow Monkey Park and to the train station - very helpful! We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast came with the plan. We also enjoyed the inside/outside hot springs. Affordable hotel with excellent customer service!"

"Uotoshi is remarkable value for money and is also unique. The owner is very welcoming with great English. The Ryokan is older and somewhat rundown but it is also a community hub that has sing along classes for local kids (Rudolph the red nose reindeer in Japanese is awesome) and have fun with English nights. "山奥です。施設周辺は夜の買い物がやや不便です。正直それを好む方がオススメです。ちゃんと昼間に買い出ししてればキッチンでとっても楽しく料理出来ます。朝はデッキでとても気持ちよくコーヒー飲んで過ごせました。いくつか果物を頂きました。是非エンジョイして欲しいです。"

"施設内は清掃も行き届いており、気持ち良く過ごせました。パウダールームにはティーパックやラテの粉なども置いてあり、寒い日でしたが、体が暖まりました。バンガローからトイレまでが少し遠かったのと、パウダールームに虫が多かったこと、車がバンガロー横に置けなかったのが少し残念ではありました。バンガロー内はガスヒーターや電源もあり、暖かく過ごせました。トータル的には良かったです！"
