"Quiet, basic off-grid cabin with two doubles and one twin bed. Wood-burning stove kept it cozy. Kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, plates, knives, cutting board, and some spices. Also had blankets, board games, playing cards, one interior light, and one outlet with an extension cord for charging phones.The cabin is on a shared property with the owners living just steps away, but we never saw or heard them — it felt completely private.Things to know:No running water or plumbing — bring your own waterLimited lighting, so pack a lantern, flashlight, or headlamp for the cabin and outhouseLong, bumpy driveway — drive carefullyNext to a fast, rocky river (access is around the side of the property and not easy)Short drive to Doe Lake Beach & campground (beach, ice cream truck, boat access)Nice visit to Brooks Falls nearby (view the waterfall, but no swimming)Great option for a peaceful, simple cabin stay close to Doe Lake. Come prepared and you’ll enjoy the quiet. Would stay again."

"We had a great stay at John’s Wolfe Lake cottage. The cottage was clean, lots of comfortable sleeping, tons of hang-out spots inside and outside the cottage, and well-equipped with some fun entertainment options for the family. The croquet set, horseshoes, and record player were family faves. Personally, I really enjoyed using the stand up paddle board and relaxing on the lounge chairs on the platform facing the lake. The water off the dock is shallow and stays shallow for a long time, which allowed for some great long swims too!"

"Our second year at this home and we had a wonderful time. The new dock was great - we were able to put kayaks and boards into the river safely and spent many hours of fun on the water. The location works very well for us to visit friends and family in the area. We also found Richard Thomas Memorial Park - a beautiful little park and swimming spot. We stayed August 1 - 8."

"My family, and I all had an amazing time, we would absolutely stay here again!One of the things we appreciated most was how well organized everything was. The cabinets and storage areas were labeled, which made it easy to find what we needed without having to search around. The cottage was well maintained and had everything we needed. The kitchen is stocked with basic essentials. Communication with the host was excellent. One feature we especially loved was the gated balcony leading down. Since we had my dog with us, the gate gave us peace of mind. She could relax outside with us without us having to worry about her wandering off. The property itself is so cozy, and the surrounding area is peaceful and gorgeous. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!"
