Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding. Will definitely re-book on our next trip.

Matilda was amazing. We had great rooms and we’re in a great location. She was very helpful an helped make our stay very enjoyable. There is a police station next door, a walking bridge to Tain about 100 steps from the hotel and the medieval shop lined street was right behind the hotel.

Good location near centers and bridge over Rhone. Very nuce staff. Excellent breakfast. Only little minus is with parking, very small garaga and onky few places behind hotel.

My wife and I were warmly welcomed at the Hotel Le Chateau and we found it extremely comfortable with excellent facilities. We were pleased to be able garage our car in a locked space attached to the hotel. The hotel was an ideal place for us to stop in our journey from the south of France to the north.

Nice revisit of Hotel Le Chateau
This was a repeat visit to the Hotel Le Chateau. The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering a few great recommendations of restaurants. The location is fantastic, right at the bridge to Hermitage. The hotel is an older hotel, but the room size was fine, and the bathrooms were a good size. There is no AC in the Fall/Winter, so plan to open the windows. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room without a view. The street traffic, and late night pedestrians were loud, and made for a sleepless night.

Hotel stands right on the river Rhone. It a very old building that as been modernise but not to the extent that it hasn't lost its charm or character, our room was right on the front facing the river and the road , must say no traffic noise. Room very clean with good wifi. the young lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful regarding where to park the car locally as no room in their garage. Breakfast was continental with local cheeses and jams. Would certainly return.

We stayed just one night on our way back from Frejus. Hotel was clean and rooms basic but suited us. I had to climb stairs which I am not good at as there is no lift. Host was helpful and car parking secure. Our only issues were with the restaurant.Breakfast was OK but the evening meal left a lot to be desired. Portions too large by far. Had a terrine of pork as a starter which was very large and shop bought. Steak good quality very large but plate filled with about 15 small potatoes which had been boiled then fried or put in oven. Skins not cleaned and some looked older than others. So many good restaurants around I would suggest a better chief to stay in contention for custom.

Merci de votre commentaire, dans tous les sites il est indiqué qu'il y a 2 étages SANS ASCENSEUR, quand au restaurant la terrine de porc dont vous parlez n'est autre que de la caillette ardéchoise faite de gorge de porc, foie et cotes de blettes et épinards, notre entrecote de montagne de producteurs locaux, et les legumes des pommes de terre délicatesse également de producteurs locaux qui ne s'épluchent pas mais qui sont je vous rassure lavées !!!! dommage que vous ne sachiez pas apprécié les produits locaux .....Au plaisir de vous revoir

The hotel is situated on the Rhône river and our view from the window was so nice. Very clean room and bathroom. Concierge has a good sense of humor as we navigated lack of mutual languages!

Our room was small and very basic... Located two floors up with no lift.... Great view of the river and helpful staff. Not expensive... So OK..!

l'hôtel a été construit en 1886 , il a été entièrement rénové, la literie est neuve, il a la climatisation , cependant comme indiqué sur le site il n'y a pas d'ascenseur !!! il n'y a que 2 étages et nous montons vos valises ....la vue est exceptionnelle sur les côteaux de l'Hermitage ....tout est réuni pour passer un agréable moment

Nice stop in the Rhône Valley
Hotel staff was very helpful, and it was great to stay near the pedestrian bridge across the river to Tain l’Hermitage, where we enjoyed some wine tastings. Basic, quiet, comfortable, and exactly what we wanted. A nice stop in the Rhône Valley.

Good location for the town
Great location right on the river and easy walk to restaurants. The reception was very welcoming and helped us store our bicycles. The room is functional, clean and the bed was comfortable. We walked across the river to The Quai restaurant (highly recommend) and looked across at this beautiful building and the castle complex next-door for which it's named. Make sure you remember the code to get back in because the doors are locked at night and they have your room key inside. If, like us, your key is not hanging on the peg, you can contact the manager on site and she will come downstairs. She's the first door on the left on the steps. Or just tell them you will be coming in late.

Comfortable stay with friendly service
Stay was very comfortable and service was friendly & prompt. Family own and daughter,who also looks after the restaurant speaks enough English for easy communication. Dad not so good but very nice and gallant. No lifts but he carried the luggage up for the ladies to the 2nd floor. Location right on river & parking an issue but we had booked private parking with a fee beforehand and that was secure. Had a big car so was tight but they let us park easily & just moved the cat when needed, onlly once. When we requestedfor a kettle, they did not have one but provided us with a thermos full of hot water. Location right on river & room wirh river view was nice. & easy access to Hermitage Hill.

A Great, Reasonably Priced Place in Tournon
This is a newly renovated, old hotel that's situated directly across the diver from the Hermitage hill so the river view rooms have an incredible view. Most of the rooms are quite spacious by local standards and the lines are high-quality, as are the beds.Plus, prices are great. Very nice young people running the place and they couldn't be more helpful and attentive. It's an easy walk to some great markets and especially restaurants, some of the best in the area. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location
Loved this location right on the Rhone and across from Hermitage Hill. We had a 3rd floor room that overlooked the river and hermitage hill. It was beautiful! Loved the quality of the hotel. Without air conditioning, it was borderline uncomfortable at times. But the large window brought in nice air, and the hotel staff brought up an oscillating fan to help cool the room. The breakfast was good, however we ended up choosing to walk into town for other breakfast options for most days. Overall, I'd highly recommend a stay (and hopefully a room overlooking the river!).

Great Hotel in Tournon/Tain L'Hermitage
Great hotel on Tournon. New owners and hotel has been remodeled. Right on the Rhone river with view of the Hill of Hermitage. Very friendly and helpful. great value. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a fairly basic hotel and our room was small, also the shower was a hand held one over a small bath, but the towels were in good condition. However there was no air conditioning and as we were over a main road you could not open the windows. The owner was very hospitable as was his daughter who was at reception.

Nice People, Comfortable and Very Convenient
Extremely friendly and attentive service, spacious room and a nice selection in the mini bar. Traditional French bathroom means one of those not-so-great, deep bathtubs and a shower hose that you can't hang up but if you travel in France you learn to deal with it. Parking is tough as you are right on the river (with traffic if you get a room in the front) so, a nice new of the Hermitage hill and bridge but not so great for the car. Good luck. It's just a quick walk to across the bridge to Tain for wine shopping and drinking and Tournon is a pretty wonderful town with great food and historic character. Have been here three times since the very new renovation and like it a lot.

Je suis surpris pas votre commentaire, effectivement la rue est tres passante en journée, les fenetres sont neuves et triple vitrage comme vous avez pu le constater, en ce qui concerne l'ecran TV il est en fonction de la grandeur de la chambre , pour finir le classement a été fait par un organisme d'Etat qui controle tous les 5 ans et qui attribue les étoiles ...(le dernier a été effectué en 2023) ...
