Large Characterful Historic Farmhouse. Dog Friendly. Perfect For Groups. Hot Tub

Tynewydd Farmhouse is a big-hearted, Grade II listed farmhouse that beams with charm and has been lovingly restored for families and groups seeking a wonderful outdoor escape.

Step inside this charming farmhouse and let the good times roll! Think rustic exposed beams, crackling log burners, and enough space to snooze 12 guests, plus room for 5 more on sofa beds. You'll never fight over the best bedroom, with two large ‘master’ double bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, a four-bed bunk room, and a separate double bedroom. There's space for dinner celebrations in the spacious dining room or kick back and chill in the comfy lounge.

The icing on the cake? A secluded garden hot tub that's perfect for soaking away your worries. Please see 'other things to note' section below.

This place has been lovingly renovated with a rustic flair, making it the ultimate spot to create unforgettable memories.

Dating back to 1652, it's one of the oldest farmhouses in the area and is said to be home to a couple of friendly ghosts (they're great company, we promise!). Nestled in the heart of the Rhonda Valley, it's the perfect spot for exploring the great outdoors, whether you're a walker, cyclist, mountain biker, or wild swimmer.

Located close to the beautiful Brecon Beacons with Bike Park Wales and Black Mountain bike park only a short drive away and Zip World South Wales just up the road, it's the perfect base for groups wanting to create memories in a comfortable and friendly space no matter how adventurous they are.

We're happy to host single-sex groups and celebration gatherings too, so bring your gang and let the adventure begin!

No matter how you choose to spend your day, we hope your time at Tynewydd Farm brings a sense of peace and restoration.

Where You'll be Staying:

Enter through the grand front door into the large vestibule and onto the cozy family kitchen, complete with everything you need to rustle up sumptuous meals or quick snacks. Its a perfect socialising space with large kitchen island and sofa to sit and chat whilst whoever is ‘chef’ prepares the food.

From here you can enter the central dining room with log burner fireplace and enough dining seating for the whole group to congregate. Adjacent to this is the second large reception room in the form of the comfy lounge area, with TV and music system. Also downstairs is a conveniently located bathroom and laundry room which can be accessed directly from outdoors making it the perfect way to leave dirty boots and clothes after a day out exploring.

Up the old, creaky staircase to the bedrooms where you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Master Bed 1 - a beautiful vaulted ceiling and exposed beams and stonework give a wonderful feel to this magical room. It has two king size double beds plus a double fold down sofa bed and ensuite shower room.

Master Bed 2 - Another incredible vaulted ceiling and exposed beams gives this room a wonderful environment to relax. It benefits from a super king size bed, double fold down sofa bed and an additional single sofa bed (which could be relocated to another room if necessary) There is an ensuite toilet and shower room.

Bedroom 3 - has more exposed beams a further double bed and a feature window.

Bedroom 4 - a wonderful children's room or extra sleeping space for adults which has two bunk beds and is capable of sleeping 4. The bedroom is accessed down a narrow passage and through a characterful entrance door of lower height - but this gives it a magical feel and kids love it!

There is also a generous family bathroom with freestanding bath, oversize shower, twin washbasins and WC.

The Area:

Whilst this is a farmhouse, the home is located on the edge of the traditional Welsh town of Treorchy and as such is in a largely residential area. Within a short drive or walk, you have access to local shops, pubs, restaurants and other services.

Treorchy itself has been voted winner of the Great British High Street Awards in 2019! With a whopping 80% of its businesses being independent boutiques, this charming town offers a shopping experience like no other. And if that's not enough to make you pack your bags and hit the road, Treorchy is a year-round wonderland of activities, from outdoor cinema nights under the stars to art festivals that will leave you awestruck.

Other Things to Note:

This is a VERY old house which has been lovingly restored. We do however have wonky and uneven floors in places and some of the doorways and ceiling beams are low. Guests are reminded to use care moving throughout the property.

Guests must be able to climb stairs.

The house featured on 'Celebrity Help my House is Haunted' on the Discovery channel. The film team commented that they had "rarely encountered such warm and friendly atmosphere", and all those who visit notice a peace and warmth that is hard to explain. We leave it to those who visit to make their own judgment, but can neither guarantee a meeting with our long standing houseguests, nor be responsible in any way if you do. All we ask is that you are respectful of the house and those from down the centuries to whom some believe it is still home.

There is a Hot Tub located in the grounds of the property which is available to guests during their stay. We ask that all guests comply with the health and safety recommendations surrounding this which are send over once a booking is confirmed. There is a charge of £100 to cover the servicing and water treatment of the Hot Tub prior to each stay. Should guests not require use of the tub, it will be powered down (and no extra charge is payable).

A maximum of 3 dogs are permitted. All dogs must be kept downstairs at all times away from the carpeted areas of the house and under no circumstances should they be allowed onto any furniture. Muddy paws should be washed outside.
