Superb Hotel.
An immaculate hotel with wonderful attentive staff. The rooms are well designed with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is one of the best I have encountered, a massive buffet selection in a beautiful room overlooking the city. I love the roof pool and spa area to relax in. There is also another pool indoors with a sauna and spa facilities. An underground car park topped off my stay.

They haven’t an elevator in this hotel but they suggest humman help to carry the luggege.

Stunning hotel overlooking The beautiful Trier
Really nice wellness hotel with stunning views beautiful pools and an amazing breakfast. Only small point in the recent extreme heat 30C+ we were staying in top floor room with great view , the air conditioning struggled the 1st night to cool us down no problems 2nd night !

Hotel actually was in a very nice area but Trier itself was a disappointment. The Moselle valley nearby was excellent

Lovely hotel with great service.
The hotel service is wonderful. Staff r v attentive. Food delish. The breakfast buffet is a treat to behold. Lots of choice including champers! Really nice that they serve until late morning too. Room was in the attic and had a great view of Trier. Very clean and comfortable. Decor and furnishings well maintained but could do with modernising. Limited parking at the property but it is free and the hotel will pay the tourist tax for you. We didn’t use but free use of infinity pool overlooking the city and the sauna. Could see from our room. Looked great and well maintained. About 10 min walk to the amphitheater and vineyards. And about the same to the Roman baths on outskirts of town. Trier centre is small so easier to navigate and get around.

The online photos do not li---this is a beautiful property with modern features in a traditional setting. No shortcuts were taken in developing this property over the years. Very attentive and very helpful service, both in hotel and restaurant. Excellent dining with innovative options. Breakfast buffet was well done. Our room had lovely spacious, private balcony overlooking hills and sunsets. .

Perfect facility for my wife and I
Staff were superb. The food was great. Loved the quaintness of the hotel built in 1918 but recently updated and enlarged. I have no reservations giving this hotel 5 of 5 in categories. Will stay there again in the future.

Great Luxurious Hotel
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Villa Hugel. It is located walking distance from the main (old) part of Trier. It was probably a 10-15 minute walk to the Amphitheater and about 10-15 minutes to the bath houses. Great location and will be even better when the hotel parking is completed. The hotel had a great restaurant onsite and a nice bar. Service at the hotel was excellent. We also really enjoyed the room. A nice luxurious stay all around!

The sooner new and better parking facilities and a lift are installed , the better. Admittedly the hotel management is presently working on these issues .

Beautiful boutique Hotel best we saw in Trier
Great facilities. Excellent value. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout 3 days. Good Restaurant food with great ambience. Breakfast was outstanding both in variety and quality , the best most lavish Hotel breakfast we have ever enjoyed in our many European hotel stays. Terrace bar with good views. Room was fresh clean and comfortable. Picturesque 15 minute walk to heart of old town.

The room was spacious, modern, and clean. The food both dinner and breakfast was the best that we experienced on our vacation. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was an indoor pool and sauna.

Hotel was in non-ideal location (not on main bus path to the tourist-y stuff) and had exceptionally hard beds. Parking was often a problem. Staff was very nice though.

Clean, spacious, comfortable room. Hotel seemed more oriented to business travellers versus vacationers like us. After a four hour drive, we were an hour and a half early for check in so the staff suggested we walk to the town. If you are tired and hungry, and it's hot and raining, we would suggest driving the 2Km and paying the small parking fee. Checked in on a Sunday when the restaurant is closed for dinner. A decent Gasthaus down the street, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

Excellent one night stay at this hotel. The facilities were first rate and I definitely recommend the sauna. The hotel has recently appointed a new chef team and the fool was quite superb. Staff were all friendly, spoke good English and couldn't do enough for you.

Clean and luxurious
It was a joy to arrive at the hotel after a long drive. The room was extremely comfortable with a beautiful shower room. It was also nice to be in a spacious room and to be able to relax in armchairs and not have to sit on the bed. We had a wide angle view of the city but it did look rather drab in the cold winter light. We are sorry we did not have time to enjoy the pool and sauna but to be sure next time we shall make time!

Exceptional Room but Difficult Parking
We enjoyed our first stay at the Hotel Villa Hugel but not sure if we would return. The quality of the hotel room was exceptional and very comfortable. We took advantage of the pool each night which we always found to be clean and relaxing. The breakfast each morning was superb and the staff were very friendly. Our biggest complaint about this property is the parking. There is limited parking onsite with a few convenient spaces just off the street. The rest of the parking is located on a steep grade that is very difficult to get in and out of the deeper you go into the parking lot. There is additional parking 50m up the road at the apartments but that was also limited. We returned to the hotel late each night and it was always a gamble if we would be able to find a spot to park our car. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood but there is really nothing nearby in walking distance for dining or shopping. I don't think we would stay here again due to the parking situation and the location.

What a gem. Excellent food and friendly staff. The hotel spa with its sauna's and steam rooms is one of the best I have come across. A minor issue for the able bodied - there is no lift at the hotel and to get to some of the rooms requires negotiating a number of stairs. Other than that we couldn't fault it.

Perfect Hotel
There is a reason Villa Hugel won an award for the "Best Service". Everyone at the hotel goes above and beyond to make sure everything is prefect. Our room was immaculate, the food was great, and the hotel really made our trip to Trier that much better. I would definitely come back to Trier just to stay at this hotel.

We had a great experience. Staff was amazing. Truly committed to service and ensuring you have a great experience. The only thing about our room is that it had no AC. When we asked, we were told that the type of room we had did not have AC. If I only knew that, I would have picked another type of room, but there was no way for us to guess. We totally recommend the hotel, just make sure you understand what your room includes. They were kind enough to lend us a fan, but it was kind of weird to hear the noise and have to be careful when standing in the night of not hitting yourself with the fan.

Wonderful Getaway
Very friendly and extremely helpful staff. Room was great and balcony was perfect for relaxing. A little out of town which allowed for a nice, quiet retreat but still close enough to explore the old town. (15 walk). Pool and spa area were nicely appointed and the extensive breakfast was a delight. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The Villa Hugel is an awesome little hotel tucked away in Trier. It's close to the city center and roman baths. The staff took excellent care of us. The breakfast is outstanding. The sauna's downstairs are worth th visit. Overall an awesome little place.

A beautiful place to stay. The rooms are lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent and offers so much choice, a range of different bread, pastry, continental meat, cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, eggs etc, You certainly wont leave hungry. I would definitely recomment this hotel to anyone.

I love this hotel!
Smartphone GPS doesn't always give you accurate elevation information. I chose to walk to the hotel from the train station, as I did in all the cities I visited. The walk from the station is substantial, but takes you on a route the helps define the city of Trier, and is quite enjoyable...probably more so without luggage. The last approach to the hotel, is a steep-ish climb up a winding residential street. Once you reach the property, you are greeted witn an absolute gem of a hotel. I can't say enough about the extraordinary experience I had here. The elegance was present but not overwhelming. The staff is expertly trained and generous in their desire to help. My suite was beautiful with well crafted furniture, elegant bed linens, and a stunning green and rose marble ensuite. The breakfast buffet was equally impressive, and as an hotel garni, it is possible to have dinner from an outstanding but limited menu, available only to hotel guests. Trier is a wonderful city, and you should make every effort to stay at this wonderful Villa.

High standards, with a friendly approach.
Quiet location around 15-20 minutes walk from the main centre of Trier. Absolutely spotless hotel, superb breakfast buffet; did not eat evening meal in the hotel so cannot comment. Hotel team all very friendly and despite my negligible command of German they were all very happy to converse in good English. Parking is a bonus although in high demand. Highly recommended.

Eines der besten Hotels Deutschlands! Es ist ein Hotel der Superlative und alles, was Menschen tolles über dieses Haus geschrieben haben, ist in Wirklichkeit noch besser! Freundlicher Empfang, hervorragendes Essen , Frühstück geht nicht besser, auch zu Abend haben wir im Wunderschönen Ambiente des Restaurants gegessen ( Portionen riesig!), Qualität auf Sterne Niveau und der skypool ist natürlich das i Tüpfelchen! Sauna und Wellness Bereich sehr einladend. Aber das beste und schönste ist die Liebe in diesem Hotel und die wunderschönen Gemälde der Mutter der Hotelchefin! Wir kommen gerne wieder!
