An ok hotel. Asked for a recommendation for seeing the northern lights and this girl at recepton sent me to a local park / lake. She said it was only a 25 minute walk. She forgot to mention that it up a very steep hill for most of that time which makes it an hour walk. And due to the ice it was extremely slippery doing that walk. I ended up slipping over and hurting my back. I then found out the next day the lights were visible from the hill where the cable car takes you Don’t take this recommendation if you aren’t fit. The breakfast was good and the guy that check me in was lovely. The beds were extremely hard, like sleeping on a brick. A very good shower. Overall ok but I left disappointed due to bad advice from a staff member.

Great, well run hotel. Rooms are clean. If you like space, you might find the rooms compact, particularly the bathroom. However, if your room is a pace to rest and keep clean, then it's absolutely fine. The breakfast buffet is excellent. A wide range of foods and plenty of it. They also provide free tea and coffee through the day, with biscuits and also waffles in the evening. I booked my whale watching and northern light excursions with reception, and they were able to advise well. The hotel is an economical option, and does a great job. I'd stay there again.

Hotel gem in central Tromsø
Delightful property employing cheerful, knowledgable staff. Rooms are compact; think space efficient, not grand luxury. A hot water pot is provided. No fridge, safe, closed clothing closet or even hooks to hang coats on the wall. No bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, or cream provided. Just a serviceable foam soap pump at the sink and in the shower. A desk, chair and tv are provided; lighting is minimal, but sufficient. Breakfast buffet is surprisingly robust with many choices of good quality food. Evening self made Scandinavian pancakes with syrup, berry jams, goid coffee and teas is a delightful touch. 7-9pm daily. Bonus: literally across the street from bus #42 which runs 16 minutes to the airport for a few krone. Better than a taxi, Uber, or airport shuttle. Enjoy!

Functional hotel in a very good location. Be aware that several of the staff I met don't speak Norwegian! Not a problem for me personally, but a bit weird for a hotel in Norway.

Since we had a early tour To early for breakfast which was included but still you pay for it. We asked would it possible to pack a box for us. They said they set out early coffee, juice, croissants for people who have tours but it’s out at reception and everyone helps themselves. So when we go to get some. No glasses etc. not a big deal but maybe they would like to rethink a better way. Very nice people and hotel.

Lovely hotel in the heart of central Tromso. There are comfortable sitting areas inside and out. We were very impressed with the hearty breakfast; so many options , from pancakes to smoked salmon to Brunost. Chai was so welcoming at the front counter; he made check-in simple and straightforward , gave us tea and waffles in the evening , and even provided tape when we needed to mail a parcel. The rooms are cozy and had everything that we needed. We will miss Amélie and hope to return someday.

I had a very nice stay at Enter Amalie Hotel. The staff was very friendly and made sure you felt at home. The waffle maker in the evening was great to have after a day of walking and shopping. The people at the front desk were great with suggesting places to eat and drink, and they even scheduled a taxi to pick me up early in the morning to drive me to the airport. The room was clean and rather quiet despite being next to the stairs. Breakfast was a good variety and made fresh daily. My only complaint was the shower was very tiny and I kept bumping my elbows into the door whenever I was in the bathroom.

Upon arrival, front desk staff exemplified warmth, welcome, friendliness, humor, and generosity. We were notified that there was an option for a free upgrade and were very appreciative. The 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and washer/dryer transformed our trip from lovely to spectacular. The front desk staff in the weekdays were particularly patient, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast staff were amazing . They were efficient, kind, and hard working. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with its variety and freshness. We enjoyed the treat of the day, ranging from chocolate cake with coconut frosting (my fave) to cookies to nightly waffles. Thank you to the exquisite staff at Enter Amalie for your dedication to your work and for your service. We would return!

Great location! The hotel is in walking distance to everything, including the pick-up spot for most reindeer sleigh ride and northern lights activities. The room and bathroom weren't anything special but were clean. The stay included breakfast, which the staff kindly let me crash early since I had an early flight to catch. As a cheaper option compared to others, I'd recommend this hotel.

Tired but friendly location
Booked a superior room and given upgrade to apartment annexed to hotel, this was in need of an update and noisy so we moved back to hotel the next day. Room in hotel was very small for 2 people, the bed was pushed up against the wall and floor space was minimal. Light in bathroom did not work and we were offered an unearthed lamp!😬. Finally the breakfast was mediocre but the staff were very friendly and helpful

The star of this hotel is the super friendly, and helpful staff. They did the best they could. But the hotel is run down, and the poor WiFi was a major inconvenience. Such an easy thing to invest in, and upgrade. I found myself going to other nearby hotels and cafes just to use better WiFi connection.

Good Option in Tromsø
Three night stay, reception service was excellent from the beginning to the end. The hotel is in a good location to get to tours and attractions. The freedom to sit in the lounge and have a warm drink and some cake at any time of day was also greatly appreciated. I would stay there again.

The staff were lovely, very helpful, the breakfast was nice, the beds were the most comfy I’ve ever had in a hotel, we stayed in an apartment next to the hotel and it was fantastic. I would stay here again and I highly recommend it

I booked a superior double room, but the room was far from superior, or even a double. The 'double bed' was two twin beds just pushed together, with seperate duvets and sheets for each bed. The holiday was booked as a romantic week away but the poor quality of the room put a dampner on the whole week. The hotel classification of what they consider a 'superior' room is a joke.

DO NOT stay here!!! We booked a stay for 3 nights and the first night we arrived late at night and noticed a weird smell in our room. We opened the windows and the door to the hall to air it out, but this did not work. It smelled like cat pee in our room and we had a horrible time sleeping. Not only did it smell horrible, the hotel room was filthy! Towels were not clean, the floor was dirty and all the surfaces were covered in dust. We cancelled our reservation for the next 2 nights and it's been 2 weeks, and I have called/emailed multiple times without a response regarding my refund for the nights I had to go across the street to the Radisson. Every time I call, no one is able to give me any answers, or let me talk to a manager. Don't waste your time and money with this place. Stay across the street at the Radisson. It had great customer service and clean, nice smelling rooms.

Tiny rooms
We are very disappointed with the room. They mentioned that the room size we have booked is 15sq.m and it was up to 10sq.m. The previous and the next day we stayed at two different hotels mentioned room sizes of 15sq.m and they are double sided from this one in Enter Amalie Hotel. As for the cleaness, the room was clean and tidy. Regarding the breakfast and the staff, everything was fine. Also free coffee and tea for all of the time.
