Disliked: Staff & service
When I booked this thru Expedia I messaged the establishment to make sure there were no stairs as my senior mom could Not do stairs. I was assured our room was on the first floor and would accommodate us. After travelling 24hrs, and a $140 euro taxi ride from Lamezia airport to Tropea Alla Corte degli dei Air BnB, to our shock my mom would have to climb over 40 stairs to reach our room!!! Not to mention our driver advised us there was no way the beach was as close as in the description. A nightmare ready to unfold. Ruralis, the company we contacted was amazing in getting us a full refund. Ruralis also assured us the owners of the BNB were on their way so we could talk with them. The owners arrived and when both my mom and I asked if they were the owners, all 3 mother, husband and son said No they were not the owners!!! Blatantly lied to our faces!!! My mother was disgusted to know after being back in her birth country that they would treat us (anyone) this way! Our dream of seeing Tropea was gone. Not to mention we had a two hour drive to our next destination. Not being able to stay in Tropea that evening, we managed to get a drive to Rovito, Calabria and arrived just before 1 am (local time) so from 4pm till 10:30 pm we endured sitting on the hard tiled steps of Alla Corta degli dei waiting for our ride! I expressed our huge disappointment and utter disgust in the way we were lied to and treated. I’m still out $140euro! Waste of my time/$$$. Stay away from this place!
