This is a nice large home with great separation between the bedrooms. It has a very large kitchen with all the things necessary to prepare & cook meals. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and had excellent pillows......other properties we have rented in the past did not meet this criteria. The location is perfect as the home is away from the road noise that affects many properties in Tahoe/Donner. A large deck in the back of the home was quiet place to take in the beauty of the surrounding forest and wildlife. We saw coyotes cruise by a few times and enjoyed the sounds of birds chirping in the mornings. The negatives we experienced with this home were dirty windows without screens. So, opening the windows allowed insects like flies and mosquitoes to come into the house. Also, there was a damaged vertical blind in the master bedroom with a couple of missing slats that we didn't open as the wand was also not attached to it. The homeowner was responsive to a concern we had about a master bathroom shower door, which was out of alignment when we checked into the property. They had a glass company come out to fix the door, but we couldn't use that shower during the first six days of our month long stay. Overall, this is a great large home and we would rent it again.

Overall a great place to stay in Tahoe Donner. We’ve been staying in the Donner Lake area for many years, and this is one of the best cabins we have stayed in. The kitchen has a giant island and all the modern amenities, yet the place still has mountain rustic vibes. Only downside is the Tahoe Donner Association and the changes they have made recently against Short Term Renters. They have steadily increased prices for amenity access and reduced the number of passes. This place sleeps 10, but only 6 people can access at a time (and one pass was missing). This is not the host’s fault so no stars deducted but hoping TDA relaxes over time.
