The Italian sounding gentleman who checked me in was astute, kind and informative. The property is nicely upgraded, with modern amenities and beautiful wood touches everywhere. And the view is spectacular.

The property was beautiful and the food, delicious. The one thing was that since it is up in the mountains the walking was very hilly and difficult to wonder around and explore the area. Staff especially the Matitre d/waiter, he went out of his way to help. We had to catch the early bus on our last day (6:30 am) he offered to make us a care package of sandwiches/fruit and water to take with us, which was so nice and welcomed.

Wonderful hospitality! This was a visit we won’t ever forget. The hotel is nestled into the side of a mountain in the Alps. The village below is picturesque. At the lodge we were given a tour of the owners memorabilia of his racehorse Justify who won the Triple Crown. Being huge Derby fans we really appreciated this. Dimitri was so good to us and really made this visit stand out. Great hotel and spa.

Not ideal for families

We stayed here for 2 nights, arriving by train at Chur. The resort is about a 20 minute cab ride. The ride was pricey so we didn’t venture back into town. There were limited activities in the summer. We went on a nice long hike and had a spa treatment. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff members and checked in about 2 hours before scheduled check in time. We had reserved a junior suite which was advertised as having a balcony. It did not have a balcony. The bed, pillows and blankets were very comfortable, as was the pull out sofa. The room was very small and didn’t allow for privacy. We are a family of four with 2 teenagers. The shower and toilet are in 2 separate stalls located in the main room. There is no separate bathroom. The shower and toilet both have a motion sensor light that turns on when someone enters the stall. The light is very bright and wakes up anyone sleeping in the bed anytime someone needs the toilet in the middle of the night. The spa treatment was excellent and relaxing. My daughter and I had massages with Nina and she did a lovely job pampering us. We enjoyed the whirlpool tub. Breakfast was served from 8-10:30. There were a variety of juices, teas, breads, cheese, meats, cereal, eggs and bacon. Coffee was made to order. I would not recommend this resort for families.

Beautiful location for this wonderful resort & spa. Our room was comfortable & modern. We enjoyed our balcony view very much. The in house spas was excellent with different types of sauna and a whirlpool. Restaurant & bar - excellent service and food.

This may be the perfect stay for someone else, but we found it very challenging with many limiting factors. We traveled in October and didn't realize how remote it was without many amenities available to us. We thought it would be a fun place to stay over after taking the Bernina Train from Tirano, Italy. I would suggest you stay in Chur if that is what you are doing. It may be a better fit for skiiers or hikers who want to start off close to the slopes. First, we arrived in Chur and the website said the resort would have an option of a shuttle. That was not true unless you were willing to pay a large fee. We took the bus up the hill (30 minutes or so which wasn't bad), but with heavy luggage, the last 15 minute walk on a very steep incline was a struggle for two senior travelers. We were walking up the road that felt very deserted! As we approached the resort, we wondered if anyone was even there...Because we were there in October, the other restaurants and stores listed in Google were closed for the season or only open on Wed-Sat. When we interacted with the staff, they were terrific when we could find them! The wait staff helped us when we arrived at 8:00 PM because the front desk was already closed. The next day, we saw another couple there looking around for a place to grab some lunch, and again, EVERYTHING closed including the onsite restaurant for the midday. The spa was actually wonderful, but only open from 3-8 PM. Just so many limits!

Nobody was “Home”

This is a new property and looks clean and comfortable from the outside. Too bad we did not get a chance to find out because we arrived late at night and nobody was there to check us in! I had communicated with the hotel about our late arrival but didn’t realize until a few hours before arrival that they had never responded. There were phone numbers displayed to call and as well instructions to go through the restaurant after hours. None of those options worked and finally at 11pm we left to find another hotel. The one thing they did right was to refund the prepaid non—refundable reservation which was certainly appreciated.
