"It felt remote and was quiet and peaceful which was exactly what we were seeking out. However…the cottage didn’t feel like a cottage. It was a bit more like a pretty single wide. The interior was well kept and well appointed with the exception of having limited kitchen items (for example a total of 2 forks, limited glassware, very limited coffee pods, etc). There was also very limited towels for both bathroom and kitchen. Be very aware that this is a full sized bed when booking! It worked for us as we aren’t very big people. Just make sure you’re fully aware before booking. Clubhouse, pool, and hot tub were very far from our “cottage”…we stayed in #7. We walked up there once to check it out but it’s not feasible for us to realistically do that any more than that in a weekend. Driving from the cottage to the amenities would be a good option. Pool and hot tub were very pretty and appeared well kept. We did not actually use them given the distance from our cottage."

"Wonderful Twain Harte Stay – We’ll Be Back!We’ve been coming to Twain Harte almost every summer for nearly 20 years, and we absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and had everything our little family needed for a great few days away.The location is perfect, especially if you plan to spend time at the lake. Having access to the private lake was very important to us, and being just a short hop away made it incredibly convenient. Getting lake access was easy, we were on the list and ready to go when we arrived.We also really enjoyed the deck and used the BBQ every night of our stay. Having central A/C was a huge plus during the summer!The unexpected highlight was the arcade game console and pinball machine. My son and I had a blast with both, and I even found myself playing video games I hadn’t played since the ’80s. Such a fun addition to the cabin!The property contact was friendly and responsive, and everything about our stay was easy and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely stay here again on a future trip to Twain Harte. Five stars!"

"Well appointed, recently renovated, and spacious. Plenty of gathering areas. We enjoyed stargazing from the nice deck off the upper level. Large game space on upper level with ping pong and foosball tables.Great pool area with plenty of seating.Although the property also has Twain Harte Lake access, our family chose to spend the entire weekend around the pool at the property. We had a wonderful mini family reunion."

"The beautiful view of sunset was not over sold. Well insulated from traffic noise. After a few glitches getting in the owners were very helpful & responsive. Well stocked kitchen. We spent a lot of time on the deck in the back. Consider if you have trouble with stairs because after unloading the car there is a flight of stairs going down to get in the house. Had a very relaxing time!"

"Wonderful property for big groups. Listing, for some reason, says 0 bedrooms. Here's the breakdown as best I remember. First house has two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs, one bedroom has queen bed, other has two twin beds. Upstairs there is a bedroom and bathroom. This bedroom has a king bed and twin bunk beds in a converted walk in closet. Beyond this, the couch in the living room pulls out for another bed space.Second house has bedroom downstairs with double bed, single bed, and trundle bed , there is also a bathroom downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Bedrooms both have queen beds. There is also a pull out couch in the living room.Glamping tent has two beds, perhaps two doubles or queen and double.We had 19 that stayed at the houses. We were a teensy bit crowded, but made it work. Kitchens are both very well stocked with good pots, pans, dishes, and most anything needed. Because I've often found rental kitchens lacking, I bring some things from home, but really did not need to this time. One house has a wonderful big patio we used for eating. Also decks to use.Private lake is 10 per person per day. Price was off-putting for us at first, but WELL WORTH IT! Great place to hang out. Plus owner has a kayak and paddle board for use at the lake. We had a 12 year old who spent hours paddling all around the lake.Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. I've stayed at many rentals, this one is a keeper."
