Mid Century Desert Nostalgia
Evocative 60s experience. Not the easily reproduced PS condo style, so not boring. Uniquely reminiscent of youthful postwar swinging lifestyle. Lots of memorabilia. Prepare to be curiously nostalgic.

A great base for Joshua Tree and so much more than the photos suggest.
The photos present an impression of a fairly small place with a shared pool and tiny bedrooms. It's not that at all. The property is quite large: the pool isn't shared so you have it all to yourself, there's also gigantic covered hot tub (not pictured), an outdoor kitchen, two separate shaded lounging areas, and an outdoor bar with a stereo and fridge. Everything is incredibly richly decorated with the fruits of a lifetime's collecting of local art and some delightful kitsch too. Inside, the master bedroom is large and comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need *including sharp knives* which has to be a first. The second bedroom is much smaller but has its own en suite and plenty of storage. It's also guarded by a collection of Native American life-size statues and art. Nothing is particularly new, though everything worked just fine. My tastes lean towards the quirky and eclectic, lived-in style and I found it perfect. Those looking for pristine, white, international Ikea minimalism will want to go elsewhere. The hosts (Ron and Theresa) are lovely people and made us very welcome; I'm not sure how to describe their approach other than to say it's a blend of the best bits of a couple renting out their vacation home and a professionally-run business. They're on text/cell and full of personal recommendations. You're only minutes from Joshua Tree, it's a great home base from which to explore the park. Local stores have everything. Highly recommended.

Desert Gem!
The pics just cannot convey the charm, uniqueness, and all-around appeal of this perfect little slice of desert. We were totally blown away! The hosts were marvelous and very friendly. The house and yard are very fun, private, and accommodating. Very close to Joshua Tree Nat’l Park and all that it has to offer. We could not have been more impressed or happy with our stay. Can’t wait until next year!

Great Outdoor Area
We really love this property. Its yard/patio is large and well laid out. Lots of spaces to sit or lay down. The master bedroom is very large and the bed is comfortable. Three TV sets, a bar area, music, mood lighting and more. We found everything clean and dust free. The neighborhood is safe and we felt safe during our stay. We will be back soon.

Pictures don’t do it justice!
When we walked in we couldn’t believe how big the pool was. We were thinking maybe it was a shared pool because it was so big, but we’re grateful to find out it was all for us! It was big and DEEP which my 9 year old was SO excited about. The entire outside is like a huge compound, including a complete outdoor kitchen! The hot tub was amazing! The house was well appointed with everything you could ever need. The master bedroom is HUGE with TONS of storage! It’s just a magical property, so special! The Hosts were the best hosts we have ever had! So friendly, helpful and wonderful! They gave so many suggestions of things to do! Warning, once you get to the property it is REALLY hard to leave! 10/10 and a million stars.

So much fun!
Ron and Cindy are wonderful hosts. Sent a text to us to make sure we had everything we needed . Loved the welcome sign when arriving. The outdoor area is so fun and relaxing. Lots of fun outdoor lights at night. The pool and spa are awesome, I love the 9 feet deep pool. Having your own bar makes it so much fun. Very private and quiet lots of morning birds. The house had everything that we needed. It is a bit rustic but that's a positive rustic. The yard is its own botanical garden with so many amazing cactus, succulents and other plants.My favorite part was the doves nest on the back patio. I got to watch baby birds hatch and the male and female attending to them. Thank you again and we'll be back before you know it. Enjoy your stay!

Location, location, location
This wonderful oasis in the desert is right on the National Park Road into Joshua Tree National Park. Also, a short drive to grocery stores and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

The pool and patio area are quite spacious and well decorated. I liked the bar area with its own refrigerator. Gas BBQ by the bubbling jacuzzi grilling steak and chicken. Inside the house has all sorts of interesting sights and lights. I like that each bedroom (2) has its own bathroom with shower. We did Thanksgiving with family and really enjoyed milling about the place. Each morning I would do a quick workout in the lovely desert air by the deep blue swimming pool. We will be back.

Pure Magic

quick two day stay after Pasadena business meeting... Loved it! Truly a wonderful stay and the place was outstanding... kitchy, cute, and the pool, hot tub, ambience was beyond outstanding. would visit here anytime! loved it! spent a day and a half visiting Joshua tree NP and the rest of the time lounging at the pool, hot tub and reading books from the expansive library! Nice little getaway
We had a great time just kicking it by the pool most of the day. Place is easily big enough for more than four people. The pool had no chlorine which is great just salt water My friends and I were very happy, Having cocktails, Playing games and hanging out by the pool. A wonderfully unique home
My family and I loved staying in this fun, eclectic home. It is a true homage to Cindy. The outside is spectacular. There is always something to discover. The location couldn't be better. It is less than a mile from the visiter center and just a few miles from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.

Communication was not great. I did not receive check in info until I contacted the property manager at about 5pm the night we were checking in despite phoning and texting the numbers provided all day. It was nerve wracking not knowing if we could stay where we reserved. I was told that this will be fixed for the next people.

Fantastic desert oasis
This place is terrific, clean, well stocked, and private. The pool and hot tub are great, the decor gives you a friendly desert experience. Walking distance to many coffee shops and fast food restaurants, a short drive to shopping and nicer restaurants. If you are going to Joshua Tree park definitely stay here, it is just a couple of miles from the park entrance.

We were disappointed
The photos of the home, particularly the grounds and pool did not match what we found when we arrived. This is a desert property and the pool was the main attraction. The pool was fouled with algae or worse. The front gate is opened with difficulty and the fence around the pool is falling down. And the interior of the property was dusty and not kept up. The overhead fan was too dirty/dusty to turn on, cushions are worn dirty. The air conditioning units are rusty and filthy, so we dared not turn them on. When we arrived the washer and dryer were full of laundry. We removed and folded items in the dryer and ran the dryer for the wet clothing in the washer. There were astonishing nests of extension cords and electrical wires, all plugged in and looking like a code violation. The house is very tired and dirty.

My wife and I booked this house solely based on the photo of the pool and it did not disappoint. It felt secluded and private though it was just a few blocks of Main Street. There was a small outdoor bar and bbq that we didn’t see in any of the photos which was nice and the hosts were about as nice as could be.

Perfect place if you are visiting the area, step through the gate and find a hidden oasis. The atmosphere was very eclectic and relaxing, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and kick back. Clean and had all the necessary needs to make a great week.

Amazing oasis in the desert
This house and property was stunning! The pool and outside patio was large and surrounded by beautiful large palm trees and flowering bushes. Every morning hummingbirds and a few other colorful birds would show up. The house was comfortable and we'll decorated. Although twentynine palms town is small there were plenty of restaurants. Grocery store is only minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back some day.

Perfect desert getaway
There is part of me that doesn’t want to give a review because I’d rather keep this to myself but I can’t. This is so perfect - the outside space is amazing and the inside clean and comfortable. It has lots of interesting nicknacks. We spent Thanksgiving here and I cooked. Several good restaurants around though. Short drive to north entrance of the park. Cindy was amazing and helpful. All round excellent stay.

We had everything we needed and more at this property! The kitchen was cooking-ready, including things like olive oil and a blender in the outside bar area. The backyard was unreal. The pictures really don't do the yard justice - it was much bigger than I imagined. It was very private and full of seating to lounge in the sun or shade. We took advantage of the grill multiple times and enjoyed the hot tub every night. Everything was very clean and tidy. The decorations were cute and homey. It was a perfect location for visiting Joshua Tree National Park - the northern entrance was right down the road. We had an AMAZING trip that we will never forget!

Awesome time at Cynthia's desert oasis!
My husband and I spent our 2 year wedding anniversary at Cynthia's wonderful property in 29 Palms. Due to Covid-19 we had the whole property to ourselves, when normally I believe the two units are rented separately. The outdoor space really made it for us: well-maintained pool (we didn't use it because it was so darn cold but the scenery was devine), tucked away hottub beneath a little alcove (which we definitely used), big BBQ, a tiki bar, tons of lounge areas, and lush plants and palms enveloping it all in. We really enjoyed spending our mornings and evenings out here with our coffees and cocktails, taking in the desert sky. We stayed in the bigger of the two units, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining nook, kitchen and laundry room. all eclectically decorated with personal care. The master bedroom had a California king bed which was super nice. We used the BBQ to make dinner one night and found everything we needed in the kitchen and throughout the house. Between our hangouts here and our exploration of Joshua Tree park, we had an absolutely wonderful anniversary. Thank you, Cynthia!

Wonderful home and atmosphere!
We originally changed our visit from March to November due to Covid, then had to reschedule a few weeks earlier due to a change in our class we took prior. Cynthia was very helpful and accommodating to our needs! When we arrived, the home was beautiful! Clean, kitchen had all we needed, and the home was wonderfully decorated. Fascinating! The outdoor area had several gathering points and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and whirlpool!! Will definitely return if in the area again! Joshua Tree NP was very close and made each day trip in convenient. Thanks Cynthia and Ron!!

Get Isolated in the Desert City
Great location & wonderful weather. Loved the decorations and used them one night to create a group game. Truly a rustic experience with the amenities of a pool and Spa. The perfect desert experience
My wife and I absolutely LOVED renting this house and for the size and amenities it comes at an amazing price. We actually booked our trip a few weeks prior to this one but the wildfires changed our plans - Cindy was kind enough to refund us so once things calmed down we were happy to do business with her again. When we arrived her brother showed us around the property, he was very nice. There were a few buggy electrical things like unplugging things instead of pushing an off button, motion sensor lights that were delayed, remotes with dead batteries etc - but overall those things were not a huge inconvenience for us during our stay. The swamp ACs were amazing and cooled the whole house down in minutes. The decor inside reminded me a lot of my grandma's house in a very cozy way - though as a native person some pieces were in bad taste. The outdoor space was way bigger than I could've imagined and our favorite part of the rental. I've seen a lot of reviews for this property saying the pool was dirty but it wasn't dirty during our visit. We loved all of the cacti and palm trees. Even though the rental is in a neighborhood we felt totally secluded. The wood fence goes around the entire outdoor space and we were able to lock it which was comforting as 2 women traveling. I would absolutely come back here and bring my family along.

Desert Dream House part 2
This was our second stay here and hopefully many more! We love house close it is to the North entrance to the park, the house literally has everything you need including washer and dryer. I can not say enough great things about Cindy who is always so very helpful. We will be back soon!
