Great Vacational Rental
Great place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Everything we needed to prepare our meals was in the well equipped kitchen. Very convenient to be able to do laundry. Outdoor space was great, through the weather didn't cooperate to be able to stargaze but it was certainly dark enough!

All Around Fantastic
Our (two adults and one kid) stay at Starlight Ranch was fantastic! The house is really charmingly decorated and well designed.The large property boasts stunning views of the nearby mountains and the quiet location provides a nice serine feeling of being remote without actually being all that remote - it's a quick drive to the nearby towns of 29 Palms and Joshua Tree. The kitchen came stocked with all the essentials for cooking, the wifi/internet was strong and had good bandwidth, and the house had pretty much all one could need. There were also plenty of games and activities to keep us entertained throughout our stay.

A perfect weekend in the desert
Starlight Ranch was the perfect pick for a relaxing weekend. The ranch is very remote - so much so that I found myself with some car troubles after making a wrong turn down a dirt road. The hosts kindly helped me rectify the situation and I was grateful for the help. Highly recommend!

Quirky desert ranch
One of the more unique rentals we have stayed. Loved the fact that everything on the property was set up In the perfect place. Lounge chairs to stargaze , benches to watch the sunrise and sunsets at the perfect spots. Oh and the star wars themes all around the inside. Perfect distance to J-tree national park as well.

No complaints whatsoever here. Great communication, beautiful views, all amenities worked perfectly (A/C was terrific for summer heat), check-in was easy, far enough into the desert that it's peaceful and quiet but not too far that it's hard to get groceries/supplies. We'd come back for sure!

Super comfortable desert house
We were looking for a relaxing getaway in the desert to warm up from this exceptionally long winter - Starlight Ranch delivered. It is out in Wonder Valley on a dirt road - many of the properties in this area are on a few acres, so scattered here and there, and many are abandoned, so we weren't sure what we were in for when we got there - but this little house is great! The outside is a typical desert yard (the wind blows a lot in this area, so don't be put off by the seemingly "worn" appearance). The property is taken care of and the owners have worked with the weather and landscaping to give you little areas on the outside to relax and have privacy and wind break. The view to the north is almost unobstructed to the mountains and the night sky is amazing - so many stars! We went to the Joshua Tree Park in the mornings before it got too hot & then spent afternoons at the house - either on the lounges in the sun, or in the cowboy pool, or in the outdoor bathtub and bar area. The house is like home - very cool vibe with just the right amount of Star Wars nerdiness :-) Comfortable beds, couch/chairs, dining table and kitchen - everything you need and more. Google music super easy to use and enjoy and games/books, etc. - perfect place to unplug from the world, but internet was strong when we wanted it. The host was very responsive and let us know when maintenance people were on their way (they clean out the cowboy pool for you) so we knew what was going on. The town of 29 Palms nearby has everything you need for your stay. Really liked this little place! Definitely recommend!

Incredible!
This property is just magical! We've never been so relaxed so quickly on a vacation. The owners' attention to detail and cleanliness made it so special. We loved the outdoor bathtub and the landscaping/lighting especially. Was a real treat, a perfect desert experience and we were so sad to leave.

Thoughtful and Incredible Oasis
We loved our time at the Starlight Ranch. It had everything we needed to unwind and enjoy a peaceful time in the desert. Everything is so beautifully decorated and clean. All the amenities were perfect for our stay, with the cowboy pool being our favorite! It was so hot during our stay that we would hang out in the pool and enjoy the serenity. We will definitely stay again!

Wife and I stayed here for our 5th anniversary and had a great time. Everything was wonderful and the only downside was a few of the neighbors houses were run down, and found some dead spiders in the shower. The outside tub and cowboy bath were amazing. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. I especially liked the record player and record collection. Would visit again!

Amazing getaway!
The property was so well apponinted, we had everything we needed to cook dinners outside, enjoy sunrises and sunsets, and to lie in the sun and enjoy peace and quiet that abounds in the area. We took advantage of Joshua Tree Park and did some hiking, seeing amazing rock formations, breathing in the fresh sur, and having to click to cater to! Thanks for letting us know what would be available- it made our stay so enjoyable!!

Off the Beaten Path perfect!
Starlight Ranch is far enough out to be super secluded but not so far out you feel unsafe. The house is well kept and decorated. It looks like some things were quickly done and are starting to show wear. The water pump was something to get used to, but no complaints. The amenities were exactly what we needed. The fire pit under the stars is magnificent. The cowboy tub was lovely, but the other smaller soaking tub water didn't work. Amboy is a quick drive back to 29 palms, and you can take it all the way to Mojave Desert Preserve. Kerry was quick to respond with answers, and the directions to get there and to check-in were simple and easy to follow. A must stay!

Baby moon in the desert
Beautiful secluded property outside of Twentynine Palms. Even though it was a very hot weekend & I was 8 months pregnant we still had a lovely time. We were able to see all major attractions but my favorite thing was watching meteors from the pool. I also adored the record collection & dancing under the stars together was something I’ll never forget. Perfect place to stay for privacy.

magical little desert cabin

Perfect Desert Escape
This place is my new favorite escape destination. The cowboy pool and the outside bath tub are one of the most magical experiences. When we were there a heat wave of 116° every day took hold. Their ac held up, was quiet and never made it feel like we were just sweating it out until the sun set. The milky way overhead during the darkest of night with a telescope is a life changing experience. Lounge chairs under the stars are a must. We didn't get to experience a fire, but now I want to come back in the winter and do winter desert escape around the fire pit. This place is pretty magical.

Great place for Astro and Night Photography
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Starlight Ranch in April 2021. The reason for renting a house in Twentynine Palms for me is to find a place with dark sky and less pollution light and this house delivered that. The property is right in the middle of the desert however we felt really safe being there. There are two houses that we can see from this property but not really close by and we saw security guard drove by when we were there. The house is really lovely and has everything we need. I got up and took pictures of Milky Way, Star Trails and did some Light Painting from 1-4am. and I felt like I had achieved my goal. We definitely will go back again to do some more photo shoot. Thanks to the owner for sharing this property with us.

Amazing view!
The house was exactly as described with everything you need to cook a meal or relax inside and out. We felt totally secluded and were only 20 minutes outside of Joshua Tree. We will definitely be back!

Starlight Ranch is incredible. Cleverly laid out and stylishly furnished. Super clean and comfortable. The view of the mountains in the distance from the kitchen and living room is mesmerizing. Desert Escape
Wonder Valley was the perfect little escape for me and my girls. I went there to celebrate my birthday and it was a great place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The house is super cute and Kerry was a great host. The best part of the trip was stargazing and catching several shooting stars! I’m looking forward to coming back and spending more time in the park.

We absolutely loved the cabin. It was very charming and inviting. It had all the comforts of a modern home and more. The only issue was we had was the shower didn’t drain well but other than that everything else was perfect. Perfect for star gazing at night, and a short drive to Joshua tree. If you’re looking to get away from the city and noise this is the perfect spot. The kitchen was well stocked to prepare a small meal. They provided us with charcoal but not lighter fluid for the grill but it was no big deal. The area was very quiet which is what we were looking for. We loved every minute we were there.

Even in the scorching heat, this place was magical
This little oasis was perfect for a childless unicorn trip for a couple of adults that needed to remember how to relax and unwind. Nothing to do but be still with each other. The pool was wonderful! We even grabbed a couple of 20lb bags of ice to make it super refreshing. The kitchen had everything we needed to make two glorious dinners we didn’t have to eat over the stove or sink in haste. The views were wonderful, the set up was idealic and the trip was perfect.

The Vibiest of Vibes
My wife and I were looking for a getaway to chill and be surrounded by nature. Starlight Ranch was a perfect little weeklong jaunt for us. At first the location seemed a bit intimidating - it’s remote and surrounded by unoccupied homestead homes. Within a few hours, we were actually really happy about the isolation and the lack of neighbors - it gave us the privacy and solitude we were looking for. Over the course of the week, we only saw about 3 people pass by the property. Upon arrival, we walked up to the house and were greeted with some awesome jazz playing from inside. The decor and vibe of the house is exactly what I was hoping for. The house is super cozy and has everything you need to unwind and enjoy yourself. The living room and kitchen areas are great. Super chill and conducive to enjoying a meal and unwinding. The bedroom has a huge bed that’s nice and firm, and is by far the coolest (temperature wise) room in the house. The outdoor tub is very cool and is very private. The cowboy was our favorite. We watched the sun set over the mountains every night from the cowboy pool, this may have been a highlight of our stay. A few things to note: Read the house rules/guide when you arrive, it really breaks everything down simply and sets you up for success. The WiFi is good enough to check emails and stream Netflix, but it’s a satellite connection so don’t expect to stream games (if you’re planning on doing this you’re missing the point of this place). There are lots of critters - they’re all cool, spend some time trying to see as many as you can. There’s a military base not very far from property, you will hear stuff, don’t be surprised. The property says it can sleep up to five, but I think you’ll be happiest if there are just two people in your party. You’re very close to Joshua Tree National Park - don’t miss the opportunity to see this beautiful park! Overall, we loved Starlight Ranch and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet getaway to vibe out and chill. 10/10!

The Perfect Getaway
My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful time here. The hosts were very responsive when we had questions, and we had everything we needed for a two week stay. The bed was comfortable. Everything was super clean. We enjoyed the cowboy pool to keep cool in the extreme heat and stargazed at night. We both worked from here, and the wifi was able to handle both of us on video call with very minimal issue. It might be slightly slower than you’re used to in a city, but completely doable. The location is perfect if you want to be remote and enjoy time alone without distraction, but also close enough to town and beautiful hikes when you want it!

Starlight Ranch is not a misnomer.
The magic of wonder valley is the views, both in daytime and at night. Especially at night. Using some starwatching apps, I was able to at the same time see, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mars, Neptune, Uranus, earth (of course) and the Hubbell space telescope passing over head. Was quite the sight for a stargazer. The house is beautifully decorated, and up to date with as much or as little technology as you like. You can cover up the TV, unhook the WiFi and just be. Or if you need to you have it all just in case you need a news cycle, it’s there. The outdoor bath is a joy. As is the record player. Would recommend.

Magical weekend at Sfarlugh
Our long weekend at Starlight Ranch was simply magical. The property was cozy with fun decor and also had plenty of space and ways to enjoy the beauty of the area. Great views for watching sunrise and sunset; the cowboy pool was a nice way to relax and soak our feet after a day of hiking; we also made a fire for s’mores and stargazed. It really felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home and this was one of the best stays I’ve had in a rental property ever. I also want to note that the AC was very powerful (I know this is not always the case with desert properties). It kept us cool in the 100 degree heat!

The cutest house in the desert.
Starlight has the most beautiful stars and is the perfect spot to catch the sunset. They also wrote out clear instructions for everything. Had so many helpful cute tips. There were easy-to-find cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer. Would totally recommend to anyone looking to get away from the city!

Breathtaking inside and out
We let our 13 year old pick out a rental and he picked Starlight Ranch. It was everything we wanted x1000. Honestly could not be more impressed by the property inside and out. The house was so clean and comfortable for the 4 of us. Our 11 year old and 13 year old were completely satisfied and entertained the whole time, we never left the house to go anywhere except the grocery store. There's no reason to leave when the property is this much fun. The outdoor tub was definitely moms favorite!!! We overheard our children talking about how they would remember this trip for their whole lives. Definite score!!! We cannot wait to come back and enjoy your lovely property again!!!

The Perfect Weekend Getaway
From the moment we arrived we felt something special about this place...and we were right! The layout, design and decor is very inviting and well-thought out. Throughout the weekend we kept finding clever things placed around the house that not only lent itself to aesthetics but also functionality. Inside: Amazing record collection and solid movies to choose from. Great kitchen setup and dish ware. Comfy seating and fantastic views when you open all the curtains. Outside: One of the best sunsets I’ve ever witnessed! Firepit, BBQ grill, chiminea, outdoor tub, lounge chairs and of course the cowboy pool. Everything sets the mood for a desert paradise. Can’t wait to go back to Starlight Ranch - thanks for having us!

Great place to explore Joshua Tree NP
The property is very clean and well stocked. Great location to explore Joshua Tree NP and the Mohave desert. Lots of security on the property because the neighborhood is interesting. Did not feel safe walking around the area. Sleepless nights due to loud music from neighbors all night long. The property itself is nice tho.

We've had nothing but 5 star reviews and compliments. We're so sad that a neighboring property was so loudly rude and we wish we had known about it right away so that we could have remedied this for you. We have never come across something like this...it has always been peace and quiet at Starlight Ranch. I really want each and every guest to have the most wonderful experience and I'm so sad you didn't feel that way! As for the alarm system, everyone we know out there there uses Simplisafe...we are a secluded property. It's how we tune in while out of town.

Wat een fantastische plek! Er is een tv aanwezig maar waarom zou je die gebruiken terwijl je buiten kunt genieten van het uitzicht. Geniet van de zonsopkomst en zonsondergang, de woestijn en bergen en de stilte. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en superleuk ingericht. Aangezien de navigatie niet optimaal werkt daar moet je met behulp van aanwijzingen je weg vinden naar het huis en dat werkt prima! Ik zou er niet in het donker rijden maar dat is puur omdat je niet gewend bent om in die omgeving (onverharde weg en geen straatverlichting) te rijden. Zorg van tevoren dat je al je boodschappen in huis haalt en geniet van je verblijf. Dat hebben wij ook gedaan! Het is echt een magische plek!
