The house is filled with notable and interesting antiques and collectibles that add charm and interest everywhere you look. We fully appreciated that the community is gated. There are deer everywhere. And the view from the deck is expansive and beautiful."

"My wife and I had an amazing stay at these cabins. Everything was clean, cozy, and exactly what we were hoping for. The atmosphere was peaceful, and it made the perfect getaway for the two of us. The only small issue we had was with the lantern provided it seemed to be low on charge or not working properly. But honestly, that didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our stay. Overall, the cabin was perfect, and I highly recommend it for couples looking for a relaxing, romantic retreat. We would definitely come back!"

The owners went above and beyond during my stay, including shoveling walkways and snowblowing the driveway after it unexpectedly snowed. If you're considering somewhere to stay around Blackwater Falls, book this place and don't look back!"

"The outside mountain views were amazing. There were deer in the area. The cabin was extremely clean and nice. It was decorated just right and made us feel at home. The kitchen had everything necessary plus extras if needed. The coffee maker was ready as well as a nice grinder. Amenities were numerous and appreciated. The gas fireplace was delightful. The large deck was nice and there was an outdoor fire pit. The property is all to itself with plenty of privacy to enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountain outdoors. There are great hikes nearby, including Seneca Rocks, Chimney Top, and Dolly Sods. Cheetah B's restaurant in Petersburg is great. I would highly recommend this property for a lovely getaway in the mountains. It snowed a bit on the last two days of our stay, which made the views even better. The host was very good and communicated well. I will definitely keep The Rusty Lantern in mind for future West Virginia trips. Excellent"

"All of the above. We found the cabin to be clean and cozy offering exactly what we needed for our stay. The bunk bed and upstairs mattresses were comfortable ( did not use the third bedroom). Loved the hot tub. "

Chad’s place left more of an impression than just a good night’s rest — the kind of spot that quietly restores your faith in hospitality. I accidentally left my battery-powered light behind, and they were kind enough to send it back to me after our stay — truly going above and beyond! I really appreciated their kindness and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!"
