The location is great, the beach beautiful and meals at the beach bar (not included) are very good. That said, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed 2 nights, they never cleaned the room. The bathroom sink was clogged, we let them know and hours later, after midnight, we returned to a sink still full of water. There is no wifi in the rooms. The parking on site is also used by whoever goes to the beach and at some times of the day it is impossible to find a place to park, there is no parking reserved for hotel guests. There were other details that were annoying and that could be overlooked in a cheaper hotel, but not at this price: the flat sheet was smaller than the bed, the mirror in the bathroom hanged so low that it reflected our bodies and not our faces (not easy to shave). The staff, except the man who helped with breakfast, was not nice.

The Belvedere Gerakas Hotel was wonderful to stay in. It was our second stay at this hotel and our third to the island. We love the location of the hotel. It’s set in a quiet location surrounded by gardens and farmland but also within walking distance of the most beautiful beaches. My partner and I love the beaches so don’t spend much time at the pool. However, we did use the pool a lot this year, as the weather was very hot and the clean, heated pool was a wonderful relief from the heat. There was always a wide selection of food and drink available for breakfast and all to a very high standard. The hospitality was also at a very high standard. All the staff were very friendly and were there if we ever needed advice or help. We would not hesitate to return again.

Our hosts Dionisis and his wife Aggeliki were wonderful. They greated us warmly on arrival and upgraded our room with a sea view without any extra cost when we checked in which was a lovely surprise and also gave my partner a huge birthday cake on our second day when they heard it was her birthday. They also gave us some gifts on leaving to remember our stay with them. The perfect hosts. Dionisis has made his own map of the island which you can have a copy of, indicating various day trips and the best sites to visit on each day trip and even a discounted boat trip to visit the blue caves and shipwreck beach (if you say you are staying at the Belussi beach hotel) Our room was large and clean with a lovely sea view from the balcony. The staff were all so friendly throughout our stay and we had some lovely chats with them when they were on and off duty. Every one of the staff were friendly from the cleaners to the restaurant and bar staff. I highly recommend you hire a car for the duration of your stay. There are three local restaurants within 5 mins walk if you wish to walk to dine out away from the hotel and a supermarket is a ten minute walk through an olive tree lined road. But if you want to explore the island properly and explore what it has to offer you need some transport. You can use a taxi or a bus to explore but this would really limit what you can see. The hotel has everything you need to enjoy swimming in the sea and days around the pool. The breakfasts superb.
