Greta, the receptionist was very accommodating and willing to help to resolve the situation. The location was excellent, near restaurants, metro and beautiful parks.
Stayed 2 nights in a clean quiet room at the back of the building, all the furnishings and fixtures were brand new, good fridge
Received a nice little welcome bag with a map and other things
There's a shared kitchen area which we used to reheat some restaurant leftovers
Great central location downtown, steps away from Davie Street, venues on Granville and the seawall for a walk around the water edge
The Templeton Diner down the street does great breakfasts and coffee
The building's also close to the skytrain station in yale town and bus routes that connect to the rest of vancouver - so we could easily get back from almost anywhere
Clean room and amenities. However, the walls are thin, so if you are a light sleeper do take some sound cancelling earplugs with you.

I have been staying at the now Guest House, previously The Ambassador for many years. This place is your typical european pensione. Clean, thats what I like and and the kithchen is set-up perfect for take in that is why I stay there. The staff is always professional and pleasant. I come up from Seattle on the train and this
We had a great experience at the Guesthouse Vancouver. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location could not have been better- although beware, street parking is hard to come by. The guesthouse is clean, and we loved the seating areas on each floor. I highly recommend bringing your own flip flops and robe for the showers (their towels are small). The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors :0 but we had a great time and would def return here.
It was a very nice experience and all the staff that I ran into were very nice and caring people. Daniele was the staff member when I checked out and he was very helpful. I also had a lovely person help me check-in but didn't get their name. Overall, very nice experience!

The place was ok for a quick stay, and for the price. The first night and the following morning my light turned on by itself the light switch is by the door so that was weird. You can hear people go down the hallway, an in the next room very easily. My tap was always dripping, and was hearing another noice constantly so I did not sleep well at all. I wish I spent a bit extra to stay elsewhere so I could sleep better. But for the price it was good.
Worst hotel I've seen. Holes in the sheets, you have to walk through the curtains to get to one side of the bed supposedly for two people since there's barely any space between the bed and the wall. Bed is hard as a rock too. Hope you don't care about washing your hands after using the communal toilet because there's no sink, you have to go back to your room to use the sink there. Staff denied everything and refused a refund for my 10-day booking. Do not get scammed by this place.
