"This is a very old days inn or something else from the 1960 or 70's. It is nasty. Took 30.min to check in. Our room smelled like bad musty water. We had water on the tv counter, bathroom counter and our floormat was soaking wet. The room is literally 10ft from a busy 4 lane hwy. It is noisy as hell and you hear everything in the rooms around you. We even heard a bad drug deal or something go bad around 3am. Lots of cursing and spinning tires. This place should be torn down and make nice marina condos. They should pay me for having stayed there."

"The hotel is in a great location, so we could walk everywhere, which was what we wanted, but I was pretty disappointed in the hotel as a whole. It's old, and not just old as in historic. This hotel is in dire need of a remodel top to bottom. The furniture looks like it came straight out of my great grandmothers home, stains and all. The carpet is old, worn, and stained in many places, and it just feels kind of junky instead of classically reflective of the period. The worst part was that our bedroom did not have a window. It was a cave. We didn't really settle in until late in the day, so I didn't think about this until day two, which I thought was too late to request a room change. Again, I understand the building is old, but I very much doubt Charleston building codes don't require a secondary egress for a bedroom/hotel suite. Needless to say, other than sleeping, I spent every moment at the hotel outside, by the pool, which was a comfortable place to be. "

"My wife and I went for a long weekend and the Vendue was a great spot. Perfect for walking to restaurants, shopping and sites. The hotel had a great vibe. It put me in a good mood just being there. The artwork and music was the perfect backdrop. We’ll be back. "

"The partial ocean view from our balcony was great! Property was OK, pool was small but nice. Our room had 2 queen beds, refrigerator and small microwave. Bathroom was adequate, with plenty of towels (a big plus). We stayed 3 nights. One day our room was not cleaned, so we got some clean towels from the pool towel bin. Front desk staff member on arrival was rude & abrupt. (Don’t even think of checking in before 4:00 pm! You will be told in no uncertain terms to come back at 4:00!!!)"

"I loved my stay here. Joey at the front concierge desk was so helpful, especially as I had a few bags with me. He also provided me with great advice on local restaurants. My room was amazing and I had a view of the park! "

"The room was clean and the staff was super nice. The only issue was the elevators. Only one was working and at one point both were down. Had to take stairs up 4 flights. The elevators are old and should be upgraded and the stairwell needed some much needed attention. We would love to go back but we let staff know we would not if elevators were not fixed. We are an older couple and we can't do stairs well."

"We picked a city view delux room but were given a view of the parking lot and trash cans. The trash trucks came to empty the bins every morning around 5am, waking us all up. I was not happy. "
