"Stayed mainly to break up our journey from the Portuguese coast to the Mediterranean coast, but we were very pleased we stayed in the old town and at this hotel. They were both excellent. Beautifully appointed hotel, spacious bedroom and bathroom with lots of character. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room, unfortunately the restaurant was temporarily closed but we were able to find one within walking distance."

"We loved staying in this home just outside the city walls. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. We enjoyed exploring the old city and relaxing by the cool river. Our host Maria was very attentive."

"Fantastic hotel, but the air conditioning had limited control, meaning we had to go to reception at 3am to get it switched back on as the room was very hot. Restaurant is superb quality, not cheap but worth treating yourself, the tiramasu is an experience. "
