Although was a short stay of two nights, this place was nothing short of amazing. I traveled with my 74 year old mom and 16 year old. 4-5 minute walk from the San Marco station and convenient shopping and dining a few steps away from the place. Stefano was prompt in his responses and I honestly felt like I had my own personal concierge. Even arranged a taxi pick up from the water door the day of my departure and provided clear instructions on how to get to Burano. Place was clean and quaint, just have to prepare to walk up a short few flights of stairs since no elevators, but so worth it. I give Stefano’s place and level of service my highest recommendation.

First time traveling to Venice with family (15 and 8 year old) Room and bathroom were spacious, extremely clean and updated with 2 windows overlooking the canals. There is no reception area so it’s basically a self check in with instructions being emailed to you prior to arrival detailing the process of locating the building, room number and all codes needed to enter the front door and to access lockbox where your room key is located. There is NO elevator so pack light as you will be carrying your bags up the stairs to wherever your room is located. Stefano (owner/manager) made contact as soon as room was reserved and kept in contact throughout my 2 day stay responding almost immediately to questions asked and was extremely helpful when I needed information. Hotel was a 5 minute walk from the San Marco Vallaresso stop (fastest most direct route from water taxi to and from Venezia San Lucia train station). The guy on the water taxi had us get off at one of the earlier stops, even though I showed him the information provided by Stefano, and that lead to a 20 minute walk navigating the different streets, alleyways and bridges of Venice with luggage. Location is excellent…lots of restaurants and shops nearby and gondola rides located barely 2 minutes away. No restaurant on property but cute cafe downstairs right around corner. Would definitely recommend this location!!!

Stefano was so helpful from the time of check in till we left. We needed to catch the water taxi at a very odd hour early in the morning and Stefano helped sort the pickup for us within minutes and stress free. Thank you for all your help and for our wonderful stay at Palazzo Orseolo.

Great value for money: excellent location (2 min from San Marco), nice view, clean. The room is a bit small and basic, but if you don’t plan to spend much time in the hotel - as most tourists in Venice - it is definitely worth going there.

Palazzo Orseolo was at best a 5/10. We are not big fans of P/O. The gondola was about the only highlight of P/O. Vertical access throughout Venice was a challenge. P/O has no lift.

Gondola side room was horrible. Woke up to delivery men yelling every morning at 5:30. Mattress was horrible. Property was really musty smelling even for Venice. Would not stay here again.

Great location and very nice and helpful stuff. The cleaning personal are going great job to make the place more appealing. However, the room was small, no wardrobe, closet or dresser to put your cloths in. The mattress is not good and squeaky. The pillows were hard as rock. I asked to change for the softer and it was done quickly. The bathroom is tiny and you have to really squeeze yourself into a shower. The shower head is very low. My husband is 6.4 and really didn’t fit under the shower head. The wholes in the shower ceilings is another surprise … Perhaps the owners and management can improve the quality of the rooms for the future guests.

Great location it’s an apart hotel not a hotel exactly so you won’t find a sign outside The breakfast is included and to your room which is great maybe a little more variety would be better but the apartment was so beautiful and spacious so it’s great

This hotel is perfectly located to restaurants, shops, sight seeing and water taxis. The staff was so helpful and stayed in touch with us days before we arrived to provide directions to the hotel. It is not easy to find. This hotel was clean, quiet and perfect for our stay.

The bathroom could have used more towels and hooks and shelves. The glass door to the canal is a bonus—we recommend splurging for the water taxi to the airport. They pick you up right at the glass doors.

Great boutique hotel! We took a water taxi from the bus station (80 euros) and they dropped us off at the hotel on the canal side....super convenient! The room was clean and spacious for a European standard hotel. Valentina, the staff who check us into our room was very friendly. We stayed in room with a Gondola view....loved it!

Amazing hotel in a very central location. Minutes to the Rialto Bridge and San Marco, also very easily to catch a gondola close to the hotel. The room was very well equipped and extremely clean. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We are a family of 5 with kids 17 and older. Our room consisted of bunk beds, a single twin & a queen. Perfect for our family. Pros - Great communication with the hotel. They will call or WhatsApp you confirming your arrival time. The room is beautiful. Very clean. The bathroom and shower are FIVE stars! Just stunning! Towels and sheets were clean. And, it’s steps from San Marco Square. Super close to all the action. Cons: So, getting to the hotel the first time can be tricky. Just follow the directions to a “t”. Or, plug it into your Apple Maps and that will get you going in the right direction. Or, just go towards San Marco Sq. We were given a room on the top floor. There is NO working elevator. This is important if you have someone in your party that can’t walk well. Maybe ask for a bottom level room. Noise. There is a ton of construction noise in the morning. And there was a bad rotten egg smell in the room. We told the front desk and she took care of it mostly. I highly recommend this place for its location and accommodations and friendly staff who spoke great English. Passports are required upon Check-in.

Best Hotel Ever. Hotel Palazzo Orseolo exceeded our expectations. Location is perfect and staff are wonderful. Staff Valentina and Hilaría are amazing and will provide their numbers for dinning recommendations and help getting around Venice. The gondolas and water taxis pick you up at the door of the hotel. Room was super spacious for the four of us. Super clean and modern rooms. This is a high-level hotel at a budget price. 1 minute walk to Piazza San Marco and 5 minute walk to Rialto Bridge. There are lots of dining and shopping options right out side the hotel. ATM next door too. I will always stay here on my return to Venice and recommend this hotel to all our family and friends.

Hidden hotel surprisingly close to St. Mark's
The location of this hotel is outstanding. It's on a small canal, and within a very brief walk to St. Marks and the Doge's Palace. The hotel itself is quite old, as you might imagine in Venice, but appears to be kept up pretty well. The hotel is not easy to find, but the staff did an outstanding job of telling us how to get to the location, including directions from multiple locations, photos, and clear communication in English. The hotel is not staffed 24/7 -- it appears that the office is open from about 9am to 4:30 or 5 pm. They did give us clear instructions about how to access our room and our key when we arrived late one evening (thanks to some typically Italian transportation problems). While we were there, unfortunately the main HVAC unit had failed and they were waiting on a technician to repair the system. We had a room in the top floor of the hotel, and it was EXTREMELY warm the first night, even despite having the windows to the canal open and a fan running. (probably 80 F/27 C). Since there was no staff there, we had no way to know what the problem was and assumed we were doing something wrong with the thermostats. We found out the next day about the problem, and the staff worked with us to find us a cooler room on a lower floor. It wasn't ideal, but we understood that repairing a system like that isn't super-easy in Venice, and we were grateful the help to find a more comfortable solution. Overall, a great location on a canal for a reasonable price.

Within walking distance to all of the main Venice attractions! The room was really clean, it included all of the amenities you could need, but the noise from outside was really loud at times (not their fault just something to note). Check-in and check-out was really easy. We overall really enjoyed our stay here!

Misleading and uncomfortable.
I believe you will find this hotel to be greatly misrepresented and very disappointing. The staff is rarely on site and impossible to get in touch with should you need any assistance at all. There is no air conditioning in the rooms despite that the property advertises. And the “gondola view” is only accessible if you are willing to lean your head out the window. Add to all of this the fact that the location is tucked much further out of the way than the majority of other hotels. All in all, we felt very misled and we’re quite uncomfortable during our two-night stay.
