"Room with box bathroom in corner smelled damp, probably because regulation extraction fan in was not working and probably never had as string tied up as when fitted. The bed had a 6 cm foam mattress on a solid wood box base so very uncomfortable to sit on never mind sleep on, but still appeared to sag in middle. No reception, 2 flights of stairs and main door left open, so less than secure. Unsafe and unhealthy."

"The location to the castle is 2 nd to none. A 5 minute walk is all it takes to be at the castle. We booked for Bastille Day. Spent the day walking around . We had lunch then returned to 514 , showered and changed. Returned to the castle for supper . Watched the fireworks display which was breathtaking. Fantastic location.The room was clean and equipped with fridge, 2 ring hob, microwave, coffee maker ( one pod machine and also a filter machine) Well worth a visit and great value for money."

"Really well situated - just on the edge of the Bastide and about 15 minutes walk from the walled town. Lovely home with a small pool and excellent outdoor kitchen. It had all the facilities we needed. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here."

"The apartment was great - in an excellent location close to shops and restaurants in the village square and within easy walking distance from the old city. The apartment itself had everything we needed and included a nice private balcony which added to the ambience. We would definately choose to stay again if we are back in Carcassonne. "I booked this hotel at the last minute and was extremely pleased with my choice. The hotel lobby was large, clean, and inviting, and the receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom sparkled. The accommodation was excellent! The downside however was the restaurant. Our dinners were expensive, bland, and the choices were limited at the buffet counter. The service was good, which helped mitigate an otherwise negative experience. I highly recommend this hotel, but would suggest dining elsewhere. "
