Hilltop Hideaway is a very charming house out in the middle of beautiful country by itself. We only stayed one night but we were very impressed with how clean the house is.
We were in the area for a wedding at Rixey Manor. The Hideaway was very close to the event location. We were able to rest and relax in between parties at the house and it had everything we needed. I’d loved the ironing board set up - very cute and convenient. Everything was very comfortable and we had a nice stay
We had a wonderful stay! The house was clean and comfortable. The deck is fantastic with lots of privacy and surrounding woods. The location was great for hiking in Shenandoah National Park and we visited nearby restaurants, wineries and a distillery. The host was very responsive with questions I had before we arrived and the property was as described.
This is a beautiful property and a very well-kept home. We enjoyed coming back here in the evenings after being out all day. Would love to come back and warmer weather to enjoy the deck and yard.
A lovely retreat just outside of Culpeper! Great house with an amazing wrap around deck to enjoy relaxing with friends after a horse show! Enjoyed a visit to Rappahannock Cellars to taste several very nice Virginia wines and purchased a red to pair with a home cooked meal!
We were very happy staying at this beautiful home. We were there for just one night, and wished we had made it a longer stay. The home is incredibly comfortable with beautiful art on the walls. The only drawback is that it’s pretty far away from stores and restaurants, so be sure to pack provisions with you so you don’t have to make any extra trips. Communications with the owner and checking into the home was extremely easy!
The property is beautiful and very isolated. The wrap around porch was amazing. It is a little difficult to get to through a lot of gravel and rough roads and I would not have wanted to get there my first time at night.
Wonderful peaceful getaway. Host was extra responsive to any questions we had. House was clean and we saw deer in the yard. Lovely location not far from amenities but very secluded and perfect getaway for our family while in town for a wedding.
My family (my husband and I and 3 adult children) stayed at Hideaway Hills for 3 nights while in town for my niece's wedding.
The house is gorgeous. Plenty of room - a fully stocked kitchen, a dining room, two living rooms and 2 1/2 baths. There's a a washing machine and dryer right off the kitchen.
All of the bedrooms are large and comfortable. The master bath has a sunken garden tub. Really lovely!
The house was spotlessly clean - I mean immaculate!
There is an enormous wrap around deck, with views of the woods from every corner.
This house is very isolated and off the beaten path. It is at the very end of a long road, and there are no other houses in sight of the property. We loved it, but someone not used to the woods might be little overwhelmed. The road and the driveway are unpaved, but we had no problems.
All in all, this was the perfect place for us - so quiet at night!
I had some issues with my VRBO account (my fault entirely), and Lynne, the owner, could not have been sweeter or more helpful,
I would highly recommend a stay at Hideaway Hill!!
Great place to stay. I noticed that there was a lot of info on the arrival, aka following driving directions, which seemed warranted for one of our travelers. We used google maps and it brought us right to the house but they used garmin and it was going to bring them not to the house. House was great! Clean and wide open layout. Nice bedrooms but would have rather had 2 rooms with a king. Check-in was good as the host was very responsive but I got an email saying that I would get code 24-48hrs before but I was following up on day of checkin for the code which came right after I inquired about it. Checkout process seemed to require a lot of effort on the guest while still having to pay the Vrbo cleaning fees etc. the garbage was not very clear as to whether or not guest was required to bring trash out to bin upon leaving. We did anyway but not clear. Overall we were satisfied. Deck is awesome but space not really setup to full potential- not a lot seating options and the “dining” table is in the front of the house not near grill or the sliding door nearest the kitchen. Very quiet and great for opening the windows at night. As far as getting to a restaurant for dinner or breakfast you are at least 25min drive from anything so keep in mind. Also the area has no cell service so save your routes before going to or leaving from here. We stayed overnight during a winery tour weekend.
The house was good, comfortable, clean, and pictures were very accurate. Check in was easy and owners were responsive. The listing isn’t very clear that there is an individual living in a separate unit in the basement but they were no issues or any disturbances. It was Just was a bit hidden in the listing that this was a 2 unit house.
Everything was excellent. Just what I expected. I am a pro as I lived in the area and my daughter lives there still. Now that I know it is there I will most certainly stay there again, with pleasure. The deck was fabulous!
We enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy, the place was clean and well-kept, and it was off the beaten path without being too remote. Would consider staying here again in the future.
