Terrific B&B in the Mountains
John & Marsha are the perfect hosts of this beautiful B&B in the mountains. Breakfast was tasty and unique each day we were there. The room was on the second floor which require a fairly steep flight of stairs. It is central to the area; Blowing Rock, Boone,Banner Elk, etc.

Everything was perfect! Very clean, beautiful view, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, beautiful decor and helpful suggestions on what to do and where to eat. There is nothing bad to say about this place. I hope to return.

The furnishings and decor were second to none. The attention to every detail, no matter how small, was truly outstanding. The view from the rear deck was awesome. All in all a very relaxing stay.

Excellent B&B. This was our firt time at this B&B, all other quests were repeat customers, we will be also. We look forward to a return visit. Breakfast was excellent. Friendships made at breakfast table are priceless.

Birthday celebration
We had a wonderful stay at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The Lodge was beautifully decorated, super clean, comfortable and had amazing views of the mountains. The breakfast was very good and the snacks and drinks were a welcome touch. Will definitely go back soon!

Attention was given to every detail including exceptional sheets, the best soaps and shampoo, and a refrigerator stocked with complimentary sodas, flavored waters, and beer, as well as snack foods and coffee and tea. The facility was immaculate and provided beautiful mountain views as well as a relaxing front garden. Our only negative thoughts were regarding the breakfast. While the morning's menu was posted the day before, and the food both days was really good, it was a light meal and you weren't given options unless you said you had a restricted diet. I understand that with a fixed menu you can save on food costs and not have waste, but even a choice of cereal with milk or a couple eggs in addition to the delicious prepared menu would have provided inexpensive yet valued options.

So happy you enjoyed your stay. Also, thank you for your recommendation on offering menu choices for breakfast but we have tried that in the past and found it to be very wasteful and time consuming, so we plan to stick with a rotating but "set" breakfast menu.

Happy you liked the cabin but very disappointed that you felt reprimanded. If we recall correctly, when you were a couple hours late for your arrival time we texted you to see when you might arrive. Your response seemed to us like you were annoyed by us inquiring. When you eventually arrived we tried to explain why guest arrival times are important to us. So sorry if we upset you as that was not our intent.

Lazy Bear Lodge is a wonderful property near Boone, NC. It sits on a mountain with a fantastic view. The owners are friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions for activities and dining. In addition to breakfast, they provide all-day snacks and beverages as well as use of a fridge and microwave for the guests. I will definitely book with them again next time I'm in the area.

Teddy Bear stay!
John and Marsha were great, the breakfasts were excellent and she called before our visit for diet restrictions; which I have and were taken for not consideration. The pillows were the nicest I’ve had anywhere including my own. The location was beautiful and felt remote, though only a few miles from Boone. Beverages are free and available 24/7. My only complaint, which I include because I don’t trust totally positive reviews, was the shower bench was a bit narrow for my size, but since it too, was a pleasant surprise, I guess I fail at seeing a down side.

Wonderful Escape from the 2020 Craziness
The Lazy Bear Lodge was a wonderful escape from the 2020 craziness. John and Marsha have created a beautiful haven in the mountains, with luxurious, cozy and most importantly comfortable furnishings. We peeked into all but one of the rooms. Our room had a balcony with beautiful mountain views, but I would not hesitate to book the rooms on the other side, overlooking the amazing garden in front of the Inn. Even though there is no balcony, there are lots of beautiful spots in the common areas and the large deck to enjoy the vistas. Breakfast was five star, and for dinner there are so many great restaurants in Boone and Blowing Rock. We’re hoping to carve out some time for a return visit to Lazy Bear with some friends. I highly recommend you book- and I’m very picky!

Amazing lodge with a breathtaking view, our room was big, cozy and well decorated. Fireplace in a room is a nice touch and makes this place even more romantic. Great place to spend weekend with your loved one. Owners are very thoughtful, all meals were cooked with soul. :) Highly recommend.
