Villa Verde Holidays

First off, this resort is massive! They have trolleys going around about every 5 mins which helped out with all the walking. We arrived 2 hrs early but was allowed to check in early. Right after checking in, we went to concierge to make reservations for the restaurants but they told us that every restaurant was already fully booked til the 14th and were leaving on the 13th. We went the next day to see if we could at least find a restaurant to go to on the 9th since it was my daughter's birthday. Thanks to Katherine for getting us reservations to Coral restaurant and was also able to get my daughter a cake. Heidy at concierge was also helpful and got us reservations to Santa Fe Steakhouse and Kyoto after being told that all the restaurants were fully booked. The room is a little outdated and needs a little TLC. Our shampoo/ conditioner holder fell off the wall and the light fixture in the shower also fell off on our 1st day. We told front desk and someone came to check it out but didn't fix it. The room was cleaned daily and mini bar was filled daily as well. Overall, our stay was ok but if I'm ever back in the DR, I'd probably try out a different resort.

After being moved 3 times and 4 calls to maintenance because their air conditioning wasn’t working the hotel solution was to offer me a downgrade. We moved to a much smaller room at 12:30 am. Finally offered another room smaller than a final one where I just said I’ll take it because it was such a waste of time. The restaurants are mediocre. Do not go to La Paisana. 3 hours and we never got our food. The staff doesn’t really care and the management doesn’t check on them. The casino has 10 slot machines at best it’s ridiculously small and very out dated. Save your money and go somewhere else! At the end of the day we decided to just deal with it and salvage what time we had. Ohhh the trolly will take you to all areas on the property but expect a wait. Breakfast offered is only buffet style and so is lunch. Everything is room temperature!!! Everything! This is not by any means a 5 Star resort as advertised.

Absolutely loved the resort minus the food. Very clean, and lots to do. Golf carts to get rides since it’s so big. So many areas to check out and a lot for families. Private boat for a large group was amazing and had a photographer who took amazing family photos for us. Rooms are beautiful and well kept. Water, drinks and snacks in the room were restocked everyday as well as clean sheets and blankets. Got the rooftop jacuzzi room and loved it. Resort is beautiful and very well maintained. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the food wasn’t as good as expected considering how well it’s rated. That goes for the buffet and the restaurants unfortunately. All food was mediocre.
