This place is so magical and amazing.The view from the deck, the froggies at night , beautiful birds, wild pigs, a donkey, cute little geckos:).Also the house is 100% percent solar off the grid.David and Wendy were great in communication and everything else!We have traveled a lot and stayed in many places... "We had a wonderful stay at Lavaland in the Lava bus. The bus was comfortable, clean, warm, and had everything we needed for our two-night stay. "Dave and Wendy were excellent communicators regarding the check-in and check-out process. The VRBO had everything we needed for cooking, laundry, and escaping from the hustle and bustle of life. It was very convenient to get to Volcanoes National Park and Kona from their location. We loved using the French press coffee maker, enjoying the beautiful backyard view, and being surrounded by the sounds of nature. Stargazing in the backyard was one of our favorite memories at the place! 10/10 recommend"

"This is our second time to stay here. We loved it, and came back because it was so quiet and comfortable, and such a beautiful place and view. The yurts are well equipped and clean. The elevation makes for comfortable cool, but not cold, nights. The central sky light is spectacular at night with so many stars. It is calm and quiet and beautiful with various flowers. But it is easily accessed from Kona South Point and Volcanoes National Park. If we get back to the big island again, we hope to stay here once more! "

A must try, off the grid experience!

"This entire experience was nothing short of amazing. At first I was apprehensive to live completely off the grid but after staying here I would definitely do it again. When we first arrived the host met us, gave us an entire tour of his property, including his beautiful animals as well as explaining what it’s like to live off grid. Made us feel right at home as if we had been friends a long time. The home was cozy, it does get a little cold so be prepared. The grill and fire pit was a nice touch in the evening. We only stayed one night and wish we had stayed longer. "

"Beautiful & peaceful location on the big island away from the busier areas. Our host was very welcoming and always made sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of a crackling fire every night. Large house with everything we needed and a very unique private yard setting."

"This property was very clean and well-stocked with many items to make our stay very comfortable. The views are beautiful and we did enjoy a round of golf. It’s not in great shape, but the reviews are stunning! We really enjoyed the outdoor living part of this home. The pool was wonderful to have; however, the listing stated it was heated, but should be clarified to say “solar heated”. We would definitely come back to stay at this property again!"

"Wonderful hospitality and great clean accommodation with good amenities. We could have spent all day just sitting on the deck with the fabulous views and listening to the glorious birdsong and nature all around us. There is comfortable indoor seating and TV but we never used it as sitting on the Lanai was so lovely. Don’t worry about aircon as there was always a cool breeze and we never even put the fan on. Heather and Adam have thought of everything from beach chairs, binoculars and cool bags etc. I like to be honest and helpful so - if you love nature you will absolutely love it here but you will be awoken early with the sounds of cockerels and dogs. For us the benefits far far outweighed anything and nothing ear plugs couldn’t sort. Thank you Heather "

"A nice location away from the hustle and bustle of Kona but within reach of Captain Cook and Volcanoe / Hilo areas. We enjoyed our short stay chilling on the deck and exploring the farm with short drives to 2 step snorkelling and coffee farms and cafes. Nice place to return after a long day of exploring. "
