Wairakei Hotel's general condition requires upgrading but beds comfortable and clean. Hot pool so welcoming. Grounds large and well maintained, perfect for families. We did not eat at hotel as preferred to try Taupo's restaurants.

Great place to stay. A bit bright at night with outside light shining through above curtains. Otherwise we loved the room, pool and buffet breakfast was a hit with kids.

Great all-in-one place to stay, not far from Taupo central, but definitely not walkable. Lots for kids to do, they're never bored.

Cheap room, enjoyed the spas, heated pools and sauna. Disappointed with the wifi especially as I had my son with autism who uses his iPad to keep calm.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Room was large and beds comfortable. The breakfast was nice but a bit pricey considering the selection. Overall we have a pleasant stay.

One of the better hotels to stay at in Taupō. While parts of the property could benefit from a little TLC, the friendly and helpful staff more than made up for it. The amenities were great, and the ample parking was very convenient. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, with a great selection and excellent quality. Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and I'd happily return.

A little dated but still an awesome resort to relax in - every thing you need at hand - golf course across the road, gym, spa pool and choice of 2 pools. The on-site beauty services are excellent.

We have been here many times and love it, sadly it is really starting to show its age and need a complete makeover. Possible some areas are newer than others so when we return we will be a little more selective in choosing a room. The staff were very friendly and helpful the other amenities as stated are showing their age however it has it all, the pool are amazing. Great locations for family's with kids, it would be great if they could however identify adult couples staying and place them away from family's.

This resort is convenient to stay at, in terms of proximity to most of the attractions around Taupō. However, it is definitely not up to Accor’s 4 star standards. Despite being old, the carpets are worn out, the ceilings are cracking, the bathrooms are stained and the rooms have a dusty smell. I loved Wairakei 10 years ago, but this was my 4th a final stay, unfortunately. The staff and facilities in the resort are helpful, but it is in need of a major facelift. Breakfast was average, you have to pay $5 to get eggs done your way, which I’ve never done at any other bnb before.
