This didn't happen and although there was someone in the restaurant on the ground floor, waiting for others (it turned out) to make the place ready for service, he just shouted at me through a locked (glazed )door, then ignored me. Thankfully the other staff who turned up were kind, helping me to retrieve the key. The room, though clean and with a nice bed, was like an oven, and the hotel was more like...

"Es gibt ein super, aber auch etwas teures Frühstück. Das Hotel hat einen schönen Altbaucharakter, so etwas muss man mögen, wenn man hier bucht. Sehr zentral gelegen, daher auch manchmal etwas lauter. Guter, abschließbarer Raum mit Aufladenöglichkeit für die E-Bikes. Alles in allem positiv."
