"Great pub, rooms are in an adjacent building with separate entrance so no noise issues. Lots of parking and a lovely location. Friendly and helpful staff too."

"Great location for peace and quiet and walking into and around abingdon.
Rooms basic but nice, mattresses could be more comfortable but were acceptable and the breakfast great and plentiful.
My second and definitely not last visit."

"I arrived later on in the evening so reception was closed.
Contact number was provided on the door, which I called and was quickly guided to the location of my key to gain entry.
Room was really homely and clean.
Hotel has a car park onsite.
I didn’t eat or drink at the hotel but they do have a bar."

"The ground floor room was comfortable and adequate for our two night stay. There was some traffic noise from the busy main road, but it wasn’t too much of an issue. The hotel is situated close to the bus stop where there are frequent buses into the city centre."

"I enjoy a hotel that makes you feel like the location… not some generic place that looks the same in every location. The Porterhouse was great in that regard, made me feel like I was in Oxford. Clean and comfy room and great location. Staff was great and helpful in every way! Breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay again!"

"Upon arrival at malmaison we were ushered up to the front of the hotel were our car was then parked for us, leaving us to take our bags and check in. On entering Malmaison you are struck immediately with how much work has gone into redesigning the prison into the hotel it has now become, check in was smooth and efficient, the staff very welcoming, we were given our room cards and encouraged to enjoy our sentence with them for the duration of our stay, this put at ease straight away. We were locked up on the fifth floor and found our room to be spacious and cosy, plenty of hanging space for our clothes, with the usual tea/ coffee etc to be sufficient for our needs, the biscuits and chocolates were a nice touch. The bar staff were welcoming with nothing being too much trouble, they were very knowledgeable about the drinks they were serving, Jed served us our first drink and was so polite and engaging. We didn’t stay for breakfast or meals as we prefer to explore the surrounding area.
On the whole it was a very enjoyable experience."
"Centrally located, looking bit tired and the rooms had paper thin walls.Room needs a bit of attention. Breakfast was lovely and the pool area was nice.
Would stay again for a night but probably not a weekend break:"
"My fiancé and I stayed for 1 night as we came up from Plymouth for a wedding reception. We were lucky enough to be given a corner room, and despite it being a long walk from reception, the room was lovely. The staff were very kind and brought some goodies to our room. Parking was good and convenient, however the car park seemed to be full of entitled people. People who decided that they’re allowed to take up 2 spaces with their one car. Strange behaviour. I feel as though some kind of parking enforcement should be in place to prevent this. Otherwise the hotel is great for a short stay."
"Stayed for two nights for work. Room is comfy enough however I and an issue with a blocked sink which should have been noticed as they left the sink In the bathroom dirty."
"This hotel would of got 5 stars but the bathroom smelled of cabbage especially after the door had been shut, also the basin is set in a very large piece marble which meant my top got wet anytime I used it as I had to stretch over wet marble, it does not affect tall people.
Breakfast is very good."
"It was a true pleasure staying at The Store. From the greeting of the professional/ welcoming front desk staff, to the doormen, to the wait staff, this hotel shines. Such an enjoyable, hard working and proud staff who present so happy to be part of the team. The Hotel goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The room was immaculate and comfortable. Of course, the top floor outdoor patio is a delightful place to have a glass of Chardonnay and feast upon the stunning view. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all future Oxford visitors."
"The hotel is lovely, in a great location. Guests can use the pool and other things. Lots of outside seating in the lovely weather. No air con, so it was quite warm in the room but it was 30 degrees and they did provide a fan so not complaining about that. Our room didn’t have a fridge which was the only downside but not too much of an issue. Overall, our stay was lovely."
