"The first unit I reserved had some issues - sliding door wouldn't open and logging into the TV, but the host moved us to another unit that was much better. We didn't know that places would be closed either due to it being off season or Easter weekend. We had to go into Banner Elk to eat and buy groceries. Just wanted to add that for people like us that don't travel to the mountains often. Overall we had a good trip, but I would stay in Banner Elk, Boone, or Blowing Rock next time."

"Very nice cabin, nice view, had everything we needed and the host responded to questions quickly. The last bit of the drive is a steep narrow switchback but our car and mid size suvs were able to make it. It’s within 30 minutes of hiking, waterfalls,and not far from Bristol caverns. "A wonderful lake house in a beautiful natural setting. The lake views were amazing, and we enjoyed seeing deer daily and even a groundhog near the mailboxes. Having access to the host's kayaks made the stay even more special. The house was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated. The location was perfect for exploring the area, including Roan Mountain, Blue Hole Falls, Elk River Falls, and Grandfather Mountain. The listing accurately shows that there are many outdoor stairs leading to the lake. They provide great exercise, and you'll quickly learn to remember everything you need before heading down! Nick was an excellent host, responsive, friendly, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Highly recommended!"
